This may have been previously mentioned, but I thought Moore would provide more by this point in the season.

He was a project and one of those guys Crean found he probably felt was a diamond in the rough and out-thought the room.  Clifton Moore was not highly regarded for many reasons, but one is he's just not ready.   He's thin, he's not strong with the ball; and frankly, he's not all that talented.  A 6'10" kid who's better on the perimeter.  We saw last night how valuable paint bigs are.

InsidetheHall wrote about him as a "sleeper."   Yawn.  Crean and his "sleepers."  I've kinda' had enough of "sleepers."  I'd rather know what I'm getting, whatever that is.

I don't mean to bash Crean, but it was so refreshing to watch a game of that caliber and see a team that was so well prepared and coached, and at no point did I think the coaching on either side was anything but level. Archie had the team extremely prepared, he had a game-plan that was effective and the players clearly understood, and his adjustments/substitutions made complete sense.

We got a good one, now it's just a matter of time in terms of how quickly he can ramp the talent level he has to work with.

I don't take it as bashing, but this is the type of game Crean often won, but then would turn around and look bad losing to Iowa at home. The inconsistency was maddening, but to be fair, the guy had his team show up for big games.....usually.

I wasn't high on him to begin with.  IMO it says a lot for where he is that he couldn't get time over McRoberts when we badly needed size.

I don't feel too bad about this loss. I would have loved to beat the arrogant pricks and their weasel coach, but they are just better than IU. A lot better talent. Missing 10 FT's and 24% 3-pt shooting will lose a lot of games against good teams and Duke is very good and deserves the #1 ranking. The fact IU played them tough and had a real shot to win late is encouraging.

Clifton isn't in the same bucket as Priller or Gelon.  Clifton had better national acclaim (rankings) than Green, Morgan, or Collin, and those guys are leading the team right now.  Were they reaches too?  Some of our favorite IU players are because Crean would "reach," so I'm really not down with the hate.  Just because Clifton hasn't panned out YET doesn't mean much.  We knew he was skinny/under-developed when he came here.  He's already filling out.  I understand that he shows flashes in practice at times.  He did not play a high level of ball in high school, and he's not ready to contribute.

Also, a 6'10" kid better from the perimeter is what everyone wants right now.  Not sure how that's a knock.  Get him in there where he's not afraid to bump around and he can contribute.
