Hurryin'Hoosier317 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Anyone else surprised Crean hasn't landed anywhere yet? Barely in the gossip mill. Wonder if he can pull off the Georgetown job. He'd take Chuck with him right in his recruiting backyard. Could be a solid match. Really curious to see how Crean's career unfolds. Sent from my iPad using BtownBannersWhat jobs are still open out there for him? I haven't been following all of that so I'm curious as to where he could land?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I really hope bryant and morgan and jbj return to see if archie can improve each one individualy and make them better as a team alsoSent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile appYes. Improving them as a team (defense in particular) would be the biggest and easiest net gain. We pissed away so many close games this season. the possum Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 i personally hope any that wants to leave go ahead and leave only four or five in that roster that are worth keeping, to many bad memories associated let them go and build back. We need to be rid of Crean in every way. WayneFleekHoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBannersI think while the national media hyped him up, people who are in charge of basketball decisions to make aren't really all that high on him. They've seen what he's done at a place like IU and there's not a ton to be excited about. I don't see him at a "basketball school" for a long time. I've thought for a while that he should try to get a spot in the league as an assistant in a player development role. That seems to be the area where he excels the most. Bowhunter Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I liked that video! I keep hearing Archie is a great X and Os coach and better than his brother. It sounds good and all but what are the facts that back this up? Also I am glad Calipari thinks he is a great hire but knowing that he is family, I wouldn't expect him to say anything less. I am causiously optimistic here.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Napleshoosier and Hoosierfan2017 2 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Wouldn't that be a hoot if Crean took the Dayton opening? LOL Don't know if anyone wants to follow the Thompson family at G'town but then again, Crean was willing to step in on the heels of Sampson so who knows. Of the 4 you mentioned G'town is the only one I think he'd truly be interested in because he at least stays in the 'major leagues' but from what I've read it also seems to be the least likely landing spot for him. Is an NBA asst. position possible? D-League? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I'm just like most others. During the season id have been stoked for this change but after that presser the bar was set so high. I'm still worried if he can get the recruits we need. That's my only real worry. I think I read that 10/10 starters in last year NCAA title game were top100 kids. He did really well as an assistant at Arizona and Ohio state. I really do hope he looks at getting an assistant who knows the state well though. I think that could only help in our recruiting efforts. Another thing is that Archie has done more with less and that's really encouraging. johnsoniu Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I think Tom takes a year off. He should. He tried hard, I'll give him that. He can get a part-time gig as a studio analyst and look at the landscape next March. He'll land on his feet somewhere. Worse coaches than him have resurfaced. Hope he finds a good fit at a place where hoops isn't a religion. Fisher is retiring soon, San Diego St would be a great gig for him. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Tak42 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Has Colin Hartman decided yet on coming back? I know he has graduated but had a year of eligibility left. Would love to see him come back. He was our defense. Come back Colin!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Milldawg12 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersAgreed. That is why I think his first two years are critical to lay the foundation going forward. Relationships are key and it took his brother 2 years once he got to Zona. Archie may be able to do better out of the gate due to his time working with the national team and his relationships there. This summer will be interesting to see who he goes after and who we get in for visits.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

If most of the guys are back and it looks like we can compete for a conference championship I think he comes back. If people leave and it's a rebuilding year I think he moves on with his life. Of course, that's assuming that his knees aren't shot and he can still compete at a high level. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
