mark1981 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Miller has been up and down on my coaching board the past month.I sold myself into Billy and I left disappointed. Archie will be a good coach here, just not sold on his ability to get us our 6th banner. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI felt the same. Four beers and a little crying I'm ready to kick some @$$. Go Archie!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER and Trish 2 Quote
Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 26, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2017 I get tickled at all the posters on here that got the coach of their choice criticizing those of us who did not---we have a right to work through our disappointment and it doesn't mean we are somehow lesser fans or less intelligent. Don't attack us older Hoosiers who have actually seen IU have a great and proven coach who rarely lost at home and won national championships. We just want you younger Hoosiers to get to experience what we did which is why many of us wanted the proven and homerun hire. I want that for my kids who are at IU now and I want to experience that again for myself. Let me tell you it is an awesome feeling. Most of us agree Archie is a good coach but he is not yet proven and he is a risk whether people want to admit it or not. With all that being said, we don't know what happened in the search process. We have to face the fact that Archie might have been the best available option. Now that he has been selected we should do what Hoosiers have always done and rally around him with 100 percent support. I know I will and I am excited about the future. I will give Archie a chance to grow into the homerun hire we all want him to be. Just be sure to respect all view points because yours will not always be in the majority. That's what makes BTown Banners so great. Hoosiers Forever!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners CR3AMnCR1MS0N, RedsIUfan, Happydaze and 8 others 11 Quote

indy317219 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Can't wait to see CAM get his feet wet and show his chops. Recruiting at a high level as an assistant ant- little doubt he knows what it takes. X's and O's - check. Most importantly- he is accountable and doesn't believe in injuries or excuses. He owns his ****!!! Trish, waitingon6, Milldawg12 and 2 others 5 Quote
jmsgws Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 What about apologies from every other person that had Donavon "sources"Sent from my SM-T377V using TapatalkI am not coming down on Justin for saying it was going to be Donovan. I am coming down on Albers for starting the **** storm that Donovan was IN Bloomington and then when it was shown he was wrong he compounded the problem by going in deeper and going off on people for questioning what he said. A lot of reporters got the coach wrong but Justin went beyond that with reporting facts of Donovan being physically in Bloomington. I will quickly apologize if he can provide proof for his reportingSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Tom White 1 Quote
cappymo14 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I didn't really fully consider him. Saw his name thrown around by some of you guys of course, but never gave it a thought. I think his success will be linked to his ability to recruit and the quality of his staff. I think he is a great hire for us. I didn't know him but seeing how excited most of you are, makes me excited. National media says he's the best coach under 40. I'm in. Let's blow up the conference!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app waitingon6 1 Quote

Milldawg12 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 He was below Stevens, Donovan, and Bennett for me. Those were the proven guys who I believe cashed the check Fred wrote when he fired Crean. Out of the group of young guns that have a lot of potential, I actually preferred Mike White over Archie.Things I like about Archie:1) AdjD increased every year since he arrived in Dayton, till this year it regressed slightly from 9 to I believe 412) Young and exciting with potential. Unlike Crean, I don't think we've seen his ceiling, and he has time to learn.3) Comes from a basketball coaching family and played PG at the collegiate level, so he has a strong background and lifetime of exposure. Things I don't like:1) Worried by the AdjO regression while at Dayton. Inconsistent at best, and never put together an elite offense. 2) Potential also equals risk, and nothing he's done before promises any kind of future results. Would have preferred one of the sure fire guys listed above. Overall, I'm excited. This is a positive step forward from a toxic situation with Crean. With Deron and Devonte hopefully back next year, plus any combination of the rest of the team returning, I believe we have a talented team that will do what their new coach has always done: exceed expectations. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appThe problem though if you look at Mike White's whole career on Wikipedia , he is a southern boy and seems to enjoy staying down thereSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Show me where Bozich reported anywhere that Donovan was not only in Bloomington, but was there to meet with Fred Glass to talk about the IU job... and I will happily say he did wrong as well. That is where Justin went wrong, and then treating people like dirt when he was questioned. Kepner 1 Quote
