I'm gonna stick to my original belief(hopefully) that everything pertaining to Alford to IU is coming out of Alford's camp to get a raise...i.e. the reverse Painter/Mizzou theory.

In retrospect, we really should be flattered by all the attention our program is getting from the national sports media even if a lot of it is suspect info.  Don't think NC State, Mizzou, Illinois, LSU, etc. are getting anywhere near the amount of national chatter.  Even though our program has been down for many years, I take all the national interest as an indicator that we are still viewed as a high quality program.

Please don't let the Alford rumor be true.  Not only do I not think he is a good coach, his hiring would have the rest of the college basketball world clowning us for still trying to hang on to the glory days of 30 years ago.  There are so many better options out there.

This is kinda funny. Earlier this afternoon Jeff Goldman was getting destroyed on this very board. Now, he speaks the word the word of God. 

The majority of us are to emotionaly invested in this to think straight (and I mean we as in me too). A reporter from a somewhat legit website reported there is a deal with the guy no one likes and he's a idiot and it ain't happening. A guy who knows a guy in the AD knows a real estate agent says it's so, well it's a done deal. 

These guys aren't smart enough for secret deals and big conspiracies. Can't get too up, can't get too down. No one will prob be named before the Final Four. Just a guess.

Alford is a better coach than Crean. Period. Crean is a horrible strategist. However, hiring Alford is like hiring Painter.

If that offer were true (I hope & believe it's not) that would put IU on the hook for almost $12million in buy outs!! Take the $7.8 million for Steve's buyout and offer it to Billy instead.
