Dalton26 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I think he can play in the NBA, but at best I think he's a 9th/10th man. I could see him being similar to a James Jones type. He won't get many minutes but when he does he'll knock down some threes. Quote
Cletus20 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I could see him being similar to a James Jones type. He won't get many minutes but when he does he'll knock down some threes. Yeah I think this whole topic on JBJ is nuts. Not sure if there is a better pure shooter currently in the class. The NBA is about matchups and who fits in the systems being run. JBJ could get 4-8 wide open uncontested attempts in the league each night......yeah I'd pick him every day of the week. Defense? Nobody improved more on the IU team than Jimmy Buckets! Hope this kid comes back, leads this group to the next level and cashes in on another year to get healthy! bnkepner and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
bigrod Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Any player who is an awesome shooter or scorer but doesn't care enough about his team to at least make an effort to play defense, is hurting the team. If watching the games and it's affect on the team and other players isn't enough evidence, our record over the last two years surely is.Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER and Tom White 2 Quote
rcbowla Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 What is the deal with Matur Maker? Everything about his (and Thon's for that matter) recruitment seems odd. Both of them seem to have been pains in the ***** to recruit. I really don't know a whole lot about him but I did see that IU is the only school to have offered him so far. Any insight on how he is leaning? Would he even be a good fit within the new system? Quote

He became less a priority as the years pass and I have not seen anything on him with IU in a couple of years. The last I heard Arizona st would be the school that would be linked to Matur. With IU coaching change I would say there is 0 chance he would end up at IU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Tom White 1 Quote

Considering nothing really changed from last year personnel wise. A lot still riding on Newkirk, RoJo, or Green stepping up into a confident PG role. I'm optimistic again this year about Newkirk, especially with how he finished the season, but hesitant for sure. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I'm not trying to be an asshole but it seems like you didn't even read what I said. Plus we are talking about the NBA so what James Jones did in college doesn't matter at all. I've probably watched more of James Jones in the NBA than anyone else on here so I know what I am talking about. Quote

I was just offering my opinion that Blackmon isn't a James Jones type. I agree that they both can knock down threes, I just don't think they can be compared because Blackmon's size would prevent him from matching up with the same type of players on the defensive end. Apologies if I took your quote out of context. Quote

Apologies if I took your quote out of context. No worries. I'm talking more from the standpoint of his offensive game, thats what I meant by type. I know JBJ doesnt have the size JJ does but if he can just knock down those shots when called upon I think he can find a team. Quote

Popular Post Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted April 4, 2017 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2017 If you go to Stu Jacksons twitter he posted the list of most efficient offensive players in the country. JBJ was on there!! Like I have continued to say, he may have his moments on defense, but he is one of the best offensive players in the country and it is mind boggling some of you want him gone!! Sign me up for a senior season with JBJ leading our offense once again. The sets Archie will get for him is gonna be a sight to see.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app barrettballer, ElectricBoogaloo, IUfan_Charlie and 9 others 12 Quote
