6 schollies to play with. In a perfect world that's 2 one and dones and 3 others. Leave a spot open. Would be perfect for class balance.

As I say, in a perfect world.

I'd go for a OAD (Romeo) and a two and done (Garland) to go along with three 4 year players. One of those players being a big that is willing to develop behind Morgan and Davis.

Something apparently didn't 'click' because he left Bloomington without an offer.

247 ranked him retroactively around 124 if I recall correctly. Concerns about his athleticism matching the college game here in the states. I'm glad we didn't reach. Didn't seem like a position of highest need also.

As for Carter, I would have liked to have him but I'm also thinking we can find more skilled players in 2018. Seems like Justin Smith and Carter fit the same niche as players.

Moretti was intriguing to me, but I guess we didn't end up offering. I'm wondering where he came up with his list, Indiana, Uconn, Utah and Texas Tech? It was like we never heard of him and then, boom, he's here visiting 4 schools and makes a choice, all withing about 10 days to 2 weeks.

I think that is just the way the process is with a lot of the overseas kids. There is a lot of scouting and conversations/recruiting that we don't hear about until they are here. Same thing happened with Dante Exum. He wasn't talked about until his visit was announced

You might be right. It seems like we talked about Dante for months.

Didn't Crean once offer a kid without ever even seeing him play? Somebody on his staff recommended the kid and Crean pounced. He later retracted the offer when the kid wasn't generating any interest from other high majors.

I firmly believe that someday, decades from now, when historians are analyzing IU basketball, their greatest question will be "how did Crean make it 9 years?"

How did Crean make it 9 years?  Far too many people were willing to make excuses for him.

David Williams. He actually committed and we backed off shortly afterwards. Seems like he had a less than stellar career at UNC-Greensboro

San Diego St is the best job in CA? Over UCLA or even the other Pac-12 schools in the state?

Yeah that one was weird to me, but I like that Lavar Ball was included in the reasoning.
