mdn82 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Lol my life is great i got nothing to complain about except tom crean. Make no mistake i will chest pump if we win 5 of the next 6.Sent from my SM-J700T using TapatalkWho is chest pumping about the win like it changed anything with Crean though? I honestly don't know what you have read on this board to come to that conclusion and be a Purdue Person to anyone that isn't completely trashing the win like it means nothing. Not much has changed. Crean is still Crean. We want him gone. But we still want them to win and are going to enjoy a victory. If anyone didn't want them to win I doubt they would watch the games. Plus I highly, highly doubt you would chest pump if we won 5 of the next 6. That will not happen. MikeRoberts Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Not many people have mentioned Jay Wright as a potential candidate. Not saying it hasn't been thrown out on here but it isn't one that is mentioned much I at all and I'm curious why?Could be on his way to 4 straight conference championships and has been passed the s16 3 times with a title. He's 55 but if he wanted to coach another 10+ years I think he could be great. Not to mention we could pay him way more - only making $2.2mm 323SGrant, Alford Bailey, Bowhunter and 3 others 6 Quote

He really seems like a Northeast guy though, but I wouldn't be opposed to inquiring on him. I am on the Holtman train personally. I do hope we do our due diligence there. He has built strong relationships in state with the area coaches, but isn't afraid to go out of state. I love his emphasis on minimizing turnovers and heady pg play. Solid in game coach. He is only 45 and has interviewed for other positions. He interviewed for Tennessee's position. So he isn't locked in. I have seen interviews with him that say he is at his dream job. I would definitely think his name should he mentioned but I don't see him leaving the Philadelphia area Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Alford Bailey, recker222000, mdn82 and 1 other 4 Quote

Surprising jay wright only makes that much after a national title. We could give him 4 million imo given what crean makes.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Brass Cannon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Jay wight would be nice also because me might not lose Justin Smith and even if we lose Tucker he might flip to us. Plus a guy like him could keep our transfers to a minimum. recker222000 1 Quote
Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 9, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2017 This season is going to be interesting to say the least. I can still see 12-6 or 6-12. If that doesn't sum up Tom Crean's IU Hoosiers. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart, BGleas, SteelerHoosier and 6 others 9 Quote

AKHoosier Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 The only hangup on Jay Wright is that he seems to prefer small-ball quite a bit. I just don't think that philosophy can experience sustained success in the B1G, and I'd prefer it to never be IU's offensive style again. Granted, Jay Wright is a better teacher of that system than Crean, but still. Alford Bailey 1 Quote
