Who is chest pumping about the win like it changed anything with Crean though? I honestly don't know what you have read on this board to come to that conclusion and be a Purdue Person to anyone that isn't completely trashing the win like it means nothing. Not much has changed. Crean is still Crean. We want him gone. But we still want them to win and are going to enjoy a victory. If anyone didn't want them to win I doubt they would watch the games. Plus I highly, highly doubt you would chest pump if we won 5 of the next 6. That will not happen.

Wrong but if you want unicorns and rainbows there are other iu boards. You guys say its so negative then why keep coming on this board? Makes no sense.

What are you even talking about? You have taken this thread, which was pretty respectable all things considered, and turned it into your personal soap box to yell about nothing in particular.

Not many people have mentioned Jay Wright as a potential candidate. Not saying it hasn't been thrown out on here but it isn't one that is mentioned much I at all and I'm curious why?

Could be on his way to 4 straight conference championships and has been passed the s16 3 times with a title. He's 55 but if he wanted to coach another 10+ years I think he could be great. Not to mention we could pay him way more - only making $2.2mm

That's a solid name to throw in the hat. He really seems like a Northeast guy though, but I wouldn't be opposed to inquiring on him. I am on the Holtman train personally. I do hope we do our due diligence there. He has built strong relationships in state with the area coaches, but isn't afraid to go out of state. I love his emphasis on minimizing turnovers and heady pg play. Solid in game coach. He is only 45 and has interviewed for other positions. He interviewed for Tennessee's position. So he isn't locked in.

Philly guy who was a Villanova assistant in late 80's. I have seen interviews with him that say he is at his dream job. I would definitely think his name should he mentioned but I don't see him leaving the Philadelphia area

Having the in state contacts is key. Still want to see how he closes out the year but so far impressive. Surprising jay wright only makes that much after a national title. We could give him 4 million imo given what crean makes.

He'd be worth taking the risk of cutting Crean.

The only hangup on Jay Wright is that he seems to prefer small-ball quite a bit.

I just don't think that philosophy can experience sustained success in the B1G, and I'd prefer it to never be IU's offensive style again.

Granted, Jay Wright is a better teacher of that system than Crean, but still.
