Is anyone else generally unenthusiastic about the game tomorrow?

I hate that. We need a streak and a few unexpected wins to get me going again. Then again, is that really what I want? And I hate that even more.

My faith in Creans ability to recruit and coach is very low.

My faith in Crean to play the "it's us against the world" card and motivate an already talented team to do what they should be doing already is moderate to high.

For me, the issue is Crean. The talent on this Hoosier team is significantly better than what Illinois has. But Groce is a much better tactician and bench coach than anyone on the Indiana bench…

Not looking forward to getting out collective butts handed to us tomorrow… but in this case, the end definitely justifies the means.

Forget the winning streak and focus on winning A GAME again.

There are very, very few people that follow Illinois basketball that would agree that Groce is a better tactician and bench coach than the fry cook at your local McDonalds.

Yeah man I'm marrying into an Illinois basketball crazed family and have lived within an hour of Champaign basically my entire life. I'm forced into watching and hearing about Illinois basketball daily. Groce is an absolutely garbage bench coach. Pretty solid recruiter, but he couldn't coach a puppy into chewing a throw pillow to pieces.

If you have a chance, watch the pre-game coach Crean and TB press conference. I really feel sorry for the players under CTC. He made absolutely no sense and sounds like the reason our season is going to **** is because of Hartman not playing. Seriously? He takes no blame for his shitty substitutions, crazy defense or anything else. I'm starting to think he is failing on purpose and hoping we let him go.

Then Crean should feel right at home.

Yeah IU games don't excite me much anymore. It's just to predictable like I keep saying. I don't need to watch every game to tell you what happened, once you've seen IU play once or twice that's pretty much the season.

I predict we'll win tomorrow. It's UI and Groce. We'll probably make UI look like a tourney team and I'd imagine we'll let some kid get a career high like always.

As a Lakers fan, I've been a very big fan of the Lakers losing to get better (tanking) At this point, if we have to lose to get rid of Crean... then I'm all in. It's a sad day when ill admit I'm fine with us losing. I blame that on Crean lol

I can't stand to watch Crean run this program into a West Virginia type program. This is Indiana, we're suppose to be contending for a championship damn near every year. Instead, we're contending for Crean's championship game, the Sweet 16. I'm over the Sweet 16's and dribble drive offense.

They chose to play for him. Its not like any of this behavior is new. He has always been full if excuses from day one.

No I'm just as enthusiastic about tomorrow's game as every other IU game I have watched in my 39 years. For me, watching a poorly coach Indiana basketball team is better then watching no Indiana basketball. Like many on this board in our group of friends or family, we are known as the Indiana basketball guy or gal. If I tried to not watch a game I would know if they won or lost just by the amount of texts I would receive from friends talking about a big win or talking me off of a bridge or just rubbing in a bad loss. Iu basketball is a part of my identity. I can understand people who have had enough with crean and the constant turnovers and wishing they lose or just not caring anymore but i cannot follow down that path. A lot of people on here say we r stuck with crean and deal with it I have a different outlook, Indiana basketball is stuck with me as a fan. I rode with them with knight in the good days and rode with knight through the Early exits in the tournament years( the lefties on Pepperdine team still haunts me), I have rode with them in the Davis and Sampson years, and I will ride with them however long the creans years end of being.

Me too. I'm also the guy who angers others that want to boycott streamed games. I pay for them every time.

I want a change badly, but I'll always watch and hope.

FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

Just as excited as I was for the first game I watched. I love what's on front of the jersey.

Really?

This generally doesn't add up.

Rooting for a team that has title contentions, bragging rights, and a legitimate shot to make noise come March is ALWAYS more fun than a team that doesn't.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that a 14-1 team playing tomorrow would have you WAY more excited than a 10-5 Indiana team.

It's how sports work.

I will watch and enjoy (maybe the mockery Crean has made of player substitutions) as I have since I was 10 years old. The win or loss won't get me going like it would if we were performing to expectations.

The front of the jersey thing. Yes, that is why I am on here 750k times a day.

But my enthusiasm is reflective of our program and has mostly been replaced with equal amounts of frustration and embarrassment this season.

This is me too. I want to not watch just to prove some point. But I'll watch. I always do.

Problem is, it's a game we are supposed to win. Emotions will be either we did what we were Supposed to do or Fire Crean. Not excited about that.

No way we lose tomorrow at home to Groce's Illinois team. Especially after losing two other home BT games. Double especially after three straight losses.

No way. Right?

I said the same thing before the Nebraska game. His gameplan wasn't effective and his explanation was confusing to the BTN announcer interviewing him. If his message to the team was anything like that I can understand the team running around confused.

We've seen plenty of Crean trying to lower the bar and blaming others. It's his job to have more seniors on this team. It's his job to have them playing as a team. It's his job to coach them up.

Since it will come up later as an excuse. Is Colin Hartman a leader? Sure we miss his play but do you think of him as a leader and thus that missing piece?

I don't see him that way. He has his moments and is not opposed to leading but when someone later says when he went out we lost our leader I won't buy it.

I have played sports all my life. I am very competitive when I am playing. When I put in the time and I lose/lost I am the most unbearable person you will meet. That said I have been a Cubs, Bears, and Hoosier fan my whole life. I would go nuts if those teams losing kept me down. I just wouldn't watch. May not add up to others including yourself, but I am not manic riding the emotions of any sport like some people do. I don't fault them as that is how I am in the sports I am in. It's just not me. This is entertainment to me and always has been. My love for IU goes beyond basketball and before I went there.
