Don't know if it has been said yet but RMK went on Dan Patrick recently. Said he will never go back to that university. Dan said well I think most of them are gone and like we all know of him he responds I hope their all dead. Said his love for us fans is the best thing that he will remember when he is on his death bed. That is the best we will get for closure people.

Knight is just a sad, angry, old man who used to be a sad, angry young man.

Not to discredit our good buddy Jonny, but no **** a coach plays favorites. And the guys riding the pine aren't exactly going to be singing the coach praises. Every single coach ever has done that. And once recruiting is over, it's no longer sunshines and rainbows. Perform or sit down. I think this sounds like how any team/job operates.

Id love to hear stories demonstrating how much of a jerk he supposedly is behind the scenes.

As for this idea that he's "manipulatively nice", I think that's a pretty far stretch. He's been actively engaged in the IU and Bloomington community since he arrived. He probably has a lot of rough edges, but damn the dude has put in a lot of effort to be a positive force in Btown.

In all fairness to Johnny, he didn't bash Crean and it was probably a typical stock answer, I didn't press him for stories or anything bc it was a pretty informal chat at our homecoming event.

Unless you don't count the puff puff pass Troy, Stan, 2 exhibition game suspension or all the other player transgressions during his tenure.

"Personal conduct and ethics"

*list of things everyone who's every played for him has done wrong*

See Tom Crean isn't a good person

"Easiest B1G schedule" - do we have SOS numbers to prove it? I've seen this repeated, but haven't seen the actual numbers. I think it's sort of a flimsy argument honestly.

Agreed that one run changes nothing compared to 9 years of contradictory evidence.

All I was saying is that Crean has demonstrated his average is at a much higher level than Davis. Certainly a run this year wouldn't really change that he's an average/slightly above average coach. He's wildly inconsistent. Sometimes he's looked like the best coach out there, other times completely clueless. I never understand where those amazingly coached games come from, and it's not just the players executing. He's legitimately coached some amazing games in the past (usually against Calimari).

I don't have a KenPom membership any longer but IU's B1G schedule last season was the easiest by far. The team, and coach, still had to go out and win but an extra few games against the bottom feeders vs. other contenders was the difference. One game against MSU and pu (other contenders) stuck out to me.

Agree, Crean is a better coach than Davis. I was using Davis and Ollie as examples for having one good run. Those runs don't change who they are as a coach.

Crean's favorites are baffling sometimes though. I think some are tied to recruiting though. The timing that he decides to sit certain players for mistakes doesn't align with the mistakes they made. Whatever his thought process is on that doesn't exactly work. I can easily see where players feel he plays favors. Johnny isn't the first player to mention that either.

I remember seeing that IU had the easiest Big Ten schedule last year. I also remember seeing that (something like) 9 of the last 10 Big Ten regular season champions had the easiest conference schedule. If you discredit ours, you have to discredit everybody's.

FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

This is absolutely correct. The only team not having the easiest schedule was our 2013 team. This is a common occurrence and will be even worse going forward with unbalanced schedules.

I remember seeing that too now that you mention it. Bad look for a conference. Definitely helps support that ACC argument that the conference tournament is more important.

To be able to recruit in college athletics you have to be somewhat of an ultimate salesman, but I also get the sense that the way he treats players who aren't his favorites, his track record of creaning and even the whole Matt Roth scenario play in to inability to manage a roster- again just my two cents but he's in over his head

Glass should be fired if this is the case.  Merely making the tournament is NOT THE STANDARD!!!!!

I think it has less to do with Glass and more to do with how long Crean would be here. If we make the NCAA's, Crean would be here until after our last game, or basically at least an extra week. Maybe Missouri ends up hiring someone else in that time frame, maybe not.

Hopefully we just lose today and it's a non-issue.

I remember seeing this as well but with conference expansion it becomes even more of an uneven playing field. When the conference was at 11 teams (which was the majority of the 10 year period you referenced) you only didn't play 2 teams twice. It increases to 4 with Nebraska joining and now is up to 8.

The conference champion obviously played teams ranked lower so they don't have the boost of playing the top team. IU's schedule last season was easier than those B1G champions in 2006-2012.

He's gone.  He's told the team.  They are playing with house money and have NOTHING to lose.  Teams often play better when they are more relaxed and the stakes are low. That's why we have seen some improvement the last couple of games.  Of course, it doesn't hurt that we have made a TON of 3s (while still turning the ball over way too much).  I continue to stand by Janitor's/BB4IU's post that Crean and Glass already have agreed he's gone after the season.  Everyone needs to Chillax and take a Xanex or sip multiple Zombie Dusts.

Zombie dust..... Yummmmm

I always knew this wasn't a done deal since glass is involved. He simply does not want to fire him as I've said. The bottom line is we have to lose tonight or I fear we are stuck. with him. Its like a bad dream.

That is why the B1G needs to go back to a true round robin schedule.  I realize that means 26 conference games at this point but hey that would help solve our weak non conference scheduling issue.  Have the NCAA move the max number of games a team can play up to 35 and that would allow for 9 non conference games and start the season a week or two earlier.
