My thoughts if what op says is true and Donovan wants to come but wants to wait a year is that you move on. Can't let one guy hold you hostage. You make this supposed move and what if he changes his mind? If you're coming you come now or move the f on. I know he's the 1st or 2nd choice but even with BS you can't let them hold the program hostage.

I agree, but I also think if it happened as it was proposed it would work great as well. Like I said I expect Archie to be our guy mainly cause of what you just said, but the hardest part is Glass himself. Why do you all think Tom Allen is our guy now? Yeah our defense got a lot better, but it was cause he didnt want anyone mad at him over firing Wilson even when he had reason. He gave Allen the job to keep things calm. Glass will not make the move which is why things could change a lot till then but I truly believe the options I proposed and feel like they will be out there more as more time goes by.

Glass has less say on basketball than he has on football. Apples and Oranges. Donors donate due to basketball mainly. If OSU opens up Archie is there. I put Archie in the 2nd tier with Collins and Holtman. We will see how it plays out. I will gladly say that if we pay an outsider to come in and coach for one season even if he played at IU I will probably be done with all of this. Because that would tell me we are the worst run Athletic Department in all of D1.

Maybe I am reading too much into his comments---but I thought Crean's comments about this being his family's senior night was almost like he was saying goodbye. At first I thought ---why is he talking so much about his family on senior night? That's when the above thought hit me. I come here tonight with mixed emotions. I am ready for a coaching change but I don't hate Crean and I celebrate the MANY good things he has done for our program. Although Crean has shown us he is NOT the one to lead us all the way back---he is also not deserving of all the hatred, contempt, and ridicule he gets on this board and elsewhere. And frankly---I am disappointed with many of the posters on this board. I never thought I would see the day that OUR posters would be openly hoping our team would lose just to speed up a coaching change. That crosses a line for this old school poster. I have never rooted against my Hoosiers and I never will. That is just not in my DNA. If anyone on this board would seriously root for us to lose against anyone and especially our next game against Purdue--then you are not a true Hoosier in my book.  I personally hope we go up to Mackey and torch them by about 20 points. Just trying to maintain some semblance of reason and balance on the board.

The "true Hoosier" stuff is crap. Fans have been hoping their teams tank to improve their fortunes for a long time. I want us to tank because I'm sick and tired of watching sloppy, undisciplined basketball. I'm tired of watching us get beat in recruiting battles over and over again and having to settle for our third and fourth options. I'm tired of watching IU finish 5th or worse in the conference in 7 of the last 9 years. I have no faith in Fred Glass firing Tom Crean so I want things to get to the point where firing him is the only option he has. I disagree with some people's views on the best way to get a new coach, but I don't get on here and say that they're not "true Hoosiers." Rooting for wins no matter what doesn't make you anymore of a Hoosier than the guy rooting for a collapse so a change can finally be made. We all seemingly want the same thing, we just have different opinions on how to get there.

That's you opinion but some true fans see what needs to be done. Nobody wants iu to lose but if it means a new coach so be it at this point. I still think Fred wants to keep him and a run will help his cause.

If I play out in my brain the scenario where Donovan 100% comes here after next season, I'm totally down with suffering through one more with Crean.. Donovan is an absolute program changing hire. Quite honestly, it's better than Stevens in my opinion. Stevens should have always been option number two but I can understand his age is desirable to folks.

If it's a "have our cake and eat it too" scenario, let's give Buckley the reigns. If that fife thing is true, I'd love it just for a depiction of restoring IU glory. Hell, get Calvert back in here too. What's Bailey doing these days?

For the love of all that is Holy, I just want this all over with! So tired of this season and the bad mojo drama that's going on. All the "he's going, he's staying, etc" is driving me crazy. On top of that I don't want to be on the tank [emoji577]. My 13 yo told me I disgusted him yesterday when I said it wouldn't bother me if they lose. What has this world come too!

Sorry, I just reread my post from last night. We need to lose to Purdue this Tuesday badly and then lose next weekend to OSU.

We lose those two games and the 1st game of the B1G, id say he's gone. That would losing the the last 10/13 games. He shouldn't survive that with the talent on this roster.

That is fine. Like I said previously I really don't care, but is it that crazy an assistant coach would come here for a year with the exposure of IU being he is an IU great that could lead to a bigger job? Or he becomes Associate Head Coach here and makes more money than he is now. I promise you the adminstration is not going to just pick a guy again. They are actually very comfortable in keeping Crean or hiring Fife for one year to get Donovan and they would be crazy not to. You would rather grab another guy knowing next year the talent isn't as good as the reason to get them instead of Billy Donovan than your opinion doesn't matter one bit too me.
