It's either an injury, illness, not waking up on the right side of the bed, my dog died, didn't get my drink or whatever the hell I call it in my bottle, etc.. There is nothing I hate more than excuse making. And we have a coach that uses them any chance he gets. Gets old real fast recker222000 1 Quote

Gets old real fast He didn't make an excuse after the Michigan game debacle nightmare bad Charlie Sheen acid trip whatever that was, it surprised me. He flat said they weren't ready (who's job is it to get them ready, Tom?). Although he may have needed to turn to a new chapter in his infinite excuse book, that was one time he didn't make one. cthomas Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Well, I know what I would like to see happen if this season ends the way I think it will. But, three local sports guys on an Indy television station last night said IU's problems are not Crean's fault. They played the injury card and were essentially quite supportive of CTC. So, I have a bad feeling that this is going at least another year. Quote

The one and only time lol. But yeah Crean should have had them ready. How a team plays is a reflection of the coaching staff. The players didn't care because Tom didn't care to prepare them enough for that game Quote

NateNoel Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I literally just threw up in my mouth when I read Alford. There is nothing in his track record to warrant that statement. Plus he is not a good human being. The interactions I have had with him have been positive. Granted it's not like I know him or anything. I just do not see a lot of other coaches on people's wishlist coming to IU. Alford seems like a viable option. Although Collins to me would be a quality hire too. CrossboneIU22 1 Quote

We are so far removed from what I know as Indiana Basketball, it makes me very sad. Yup. Take a look at what Chris Mack said about his latest injured player on Twitter. He released a statement saying how he hated it for the kid, but ended it by saying next man up. That to me is the difference between other elite/good coaches and Crean. While Crean is making excuses, other coaches are adjusting to the team they have. It's so damn sad to see excuse after excuse with all talent we have, even after injuries. I absolutely can't stand excuse making. Coaches who use excuses any chance they get aren't good coaches. That's why Chris Mack is what he is. And that is a great head coach. It definitely shows in his program year in and year out. Same with other great coaches. They work with what they have and generate success. It always has to be literally picture perfect for Crean for him to succeed in any given season. And like you said, this team still has talent on the floor even with all the injuries. I'm getting tired of it and it better end soon Quote

I would love someone who simply understands people. Who knows how to teach the game, use the bench as a tool, who can recruit local kids, developing a pipeline to IU, and someone who understands where he is and lives by those expectations with no excuses. thebigweave, MikeRoberts, GloryDays and 1 other 4 Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Good point. There is literally no one thing that IU does extremely wellMeh... we've had some of the country's top offenses under Crean, statistically. Also, we're usually a top 3PT team. The problem with Crean is that everything goes from fine to disaster, and the basics that are needed to maintain a solid floor aren't there. Soaring highs and crashing lows. bleedhoosier Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 This thread is super entertaining to read through once per day. It's guaranteed to be 10 more pages deep every morning lol.I for one had the game on in the background but was PAINTING our living room.. chuckling at our team being manhandled. Watched a little here and there and looked like ZERO offense happening. Just Bryant doing some thingsSent from my SCH-I545 using BtownBanners mobile app Napleshoosier 1 Quote
