TOM CREAN FIRED

I do not want a fire lit. I don't want some "miracle" sweet sixteen run saving his job.

That would be the worst scenario possible. Glass would be impressed that Crean turned the season around and give him a 5-6 year extension. The stuff of nightmares lol.

It's baffling that we're underperforming that much. It feels like we're heading in the 2013-2014 direction again. That team had 3 McAA and missed the tourney. This one only has 2 and we could easily fall flat.

That team had 2, Vonleh and Yogi.  And they managed to not even make the NIT.

The game last night (really the entire season) is really an indictment on Crean's recruiting style and approach to getting the kids to graduate in three years...or maybe it is just the world that we live in now...not really sure.  However, the team seriously lacks leadership...in the form of senior leadership.  If Yogi (or someone like him) was on the team, I think that we would be having an entirely different conversation.

Exactly. We cannot make a run to the sweet 16 now. I know it sounds bad, but then we would be stuck with Crean for another 8 years. Would probably reach the sweet 16 4 times out of the next 8 if that happens. Can't have that at Indiana

Fire Sweet 16 Crean!

Hey, at this point I'd just be glad to see the players learn that they don't have to heave up a contested 3 just because 5 seconds came off the shot clock.

Made the prediction with my brother before Maryland game that IU goes 2-4 to finish up JAN. That was me giving them wins at home against Rutgers and Mich St. All losses on the road. I really really want to be wrong about this, but my prediction has started out on point.

If we make the sweet sixeteen you better believe glass will extend him stating it was a great turn around. I would say 8 years at 4 million a year.

It's sad that some IU fans are talking about what could boost the team into the tourney. That should never be the goal or a relief or even part of the discussion. If IU barely makes it into the tourney again and gets bounced in their first or second game, that's not progress. That's not success. That's the sign of a stagnant program.

P. S. I'm not calling those fans out in anyway. It's just my observation of the state of the program and what that lends fans to talk about. If IU were more successful we'd talk realistically about titles, for example.

It would be 3 out of 4 years that we're fishing for wins to get into the tourney. 4 years ago we didn't even get in, 3 years ago we were on the bubble but got in and lost in the first round, last year solidly in, and now this year hoping again.

And yet, Glass fired the first football coach to take us to back-to-back bowl games in two decades...

If the right hire were realistic, I fully believe he'd pull the trigger.

The same coach he had just extended knowing the issues going on in the program. He turned a blind eye and gave him a big fat extension

I didn't get to see the game, but listening to Fischer on the podcast try to put a positive spin on the game. I'm pretty amused with his take on Blackmon. Fischer said it was their best defensive game, and they gave up 75.

Do you ever notice that anyone talking about Blackmon only mentions his offense and not how many points he is giving up? He absolutely kills us defensively. I seriously think opposing coaches tell their team to get the ball to whoever he is supposed to be guarding.
