ChiHoosier5 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Someone already mentioned how Crean is holding this team back. At least once a game, I say to myself, 'Man I would love to see a real coach (Brad Stevens) coach this team. To be able to hone in on their individual skill levels and athleticism to play as a team. Who knows, maybe even play a little defense too. MikeRoberts 1 Quote

SteelerHoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Literally talked up Rutgers like they are some up and coming commodity in college basketball or something. Good grief Tom. No they are not winning many games in the Conference this year Quote

AZ Hoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Just saw this on twitter... it made me laugh. Out loud. @TomCrean in case no one told you this, it's not a NCAA violation to coach defense. In fact, it's kind of encouraged. Ask Izzo he'll agree. IUHoosier5 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 You have to think the other B1G coaches want Crean to stay here as long as possible that way they don't have to deal with IU being a force to reckon with again 323SGrant 1 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Since Maui, I have been expecting these kids to step up the effort knowing Crean is on a very hot seat. Except for ND we have not had many "win for the coach" effort based games. Many say we will lose s lot of kids if we changed coaches but I really think Crean has lost this team. Honestly, I'm not convinced that the effort has been missing the entire time. I think we have a team that collectively has a bad basketball IQ and should not be playing in free offenses, that require them to make their own in game adjustments and playing complex, hybrid defenses. We got away with this stuff in 2011-2013 for two reasons. We had a high collective IQ and we were littered with pros. This is what I see anyways. karlqt and ChiHoosier5 2 Quote

schoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Crean's teams have no concept of valuing the ball nor any defense at all. I watched Hoosiers again last night, and I swear Gene Hackman could out coach Crean. Watching Hickory play defense made me feel better knowing Indiana basketball was once known for this. The one area of basketball that wins championships is the reason Crean wins very little at all. His 8 year B1G record now sits at a paltry 50-77(.394). That's a 7 win average and at this rate, even a Glass half filled lifetime contract wouldn't get him back to .500. SteelerHoosier and colonel06 2 Quote

It is clear this team is not doing anything this year Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 But he won against a Flamethrower Rutgers squad. We are 11-3. We have this, we have that. I just wish for once we could look past the junk W's and realize we are hot garbage. The fact this hot garbage squad is 11-3 is so shocking. Crean will extend his life here with this cakewalk schedule we have this year. So disheartening. Quote

If Crean is not fired at the end of this season I will not watch another IU basketball game until he is. If they somehow by the grace of every single deity out there fluke a championship down the road with him I will just have to live with missing out on it. Quote

I mean even with a lifetime contact 10-8 would take 14 years. God knows his lifespan isn't that long. Quote

He couldn't win then and he can't now. 9-9 last year and 7-11 the year before was his record post Cody and Vic. What's is there to ignore? It's all on paper. Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 @ZachOsterman: Tom Crean terms Bielfeldt's performance a triple-double because he also had 11 deflections. #iubb Gotta love those deflections! Str8Hoosiers 1 Quote

Just find some of the comments as bad as his coaching. I am sure if we go 12-6 you will be one of the first to say how easy our schedule was. That would include 3 losses we should win. I want his ass gone but come on man. You are reaching a little bit. Yes your comment is one I am talking about. You are starting to sound like Crean in a post game presser from the opposite end. Ranger78 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Coach Crean record at this point is not why I want him gone. I respect coach. I just don't like the product on the court. I don't like bad fundamental basketball. What Coach says or doesn't say at his post game presser is not the issue. He's trying to save his job and I hate to watch it, but I want a change. I would prefer to do it without bashing the guy who came here when a lot of coaches ran the other way. Parakeet Jones, MikeRoberts, Stuhoo and 1 other 4 Quote
