Freddie lied to us... what about the "Indiana ties"? Where's the "home run"? If this is "swinging for he fences", I'm out.

Giving Archie a chance to save Glass' job... but wow... my mind is blown.

Not onboard to fire, but "under promise, over deliver" is the golden rule. The opposite is a how you start small fires where you are sitting...

Indiana has been to the Final Four every decade of basketball except the 60's.

40's (won a title)

50's (won a title)

70's (won a title)

80's (won two titles)

90's

00's

So that brings us to this decade.  We have two seasons left.  Will Archie Miller make a big enough splash to get another decade added to the list?  If not, I directly blame Glass for both holding onto Crean too long and for hiring a guy who might eventually do well.

Lmao you are giving him 2 years to make a Final Four with the team Crean left? Then it is Glass fault if that doesn't happen cause Miller "might eventually do well." This fan base is funny.

We can't blame Glass for what Sampson left us in, but if we go a full decade without a Final Four, we deserve it. We kept Mike Davis for too long, hired a known cheater, then kept Tom Crean for too long. We aren't in the conversation with the bluebloods anymore because we don't act like a blueblood.

So another Blue Blood wouldn't have hired Archie Miller? I am guessing you are wrong on this and you know it.

I wasn't trying to say that. A blueblood doesn't keep Mike Davis after back to back years of no postseason (and probably doesn't hire him to start with). A blueblood doesn't let that coach intimidate the university into feeling like they have to hire a minority. A blueblood doesn't bring in a coach under investigation and let his impending punishment handicap them, then self-report him for something as silly as phone calls and let it nuke the program. A blueblood doesn't give Tom Crean a 10-year contract and then extend him after a Sweet 16 run, then let him coach 2-3 years past his expiration date.

I like Archie Miller and I think he can be great here. I just hate the narrative that we had to settle because we weren't good enough for our top targets. But when you look back over the last 15 years, we've kind of brought it on ourselves.

1. Kentucky hired Calipari when he was under investigation at Memphis.

2. They extended Crean when he was the #1 team in the country for two years in what was nothing much more than a raise. It was either that year or after, but it would have happened.

As for the perception of being a Blue Blood. That really doesn't matter what you, I, or any fan thinks. There isn't an extra badge or rulebook given to a fan base of a blue blood. All he has to do is recruit the area and win. Good luck!
