Does anyone know what happened to Tyler Cherry? He was supposedly a big get...at least at the time. If memory serves, he isn't on this year's team but he is still part of the program???

He injured his knee at the end of last season so he wouldn't have played or practiced this season. He is temporarily off the roster because of that. He is still helping out with the team as a student coach. The expectation is that he'll be back on the roster in 2026.

Does anyone know how much the total salaries (or do I mean NIL) costs for IU football players for 2025? vs let’s say other top 15 teams?

IUFB payroll is around $22-23M (NIL and rev share).  This big programs are $35-40M+.

There is actually a great source for this info... Cig himself.

This seams like a big gap between IU and big schools, and it is, we're like 60-65% of the big programs this season.  But last year we were around $4.5M of NIL and the big programs were $16-20M, so we were only 25% or so of the big programs last season.  This is progress, but unfortunately we need more money.  All but a few schools do.

The OV list for this weekend is particularly interesting for me. You have some high-level  (high 3*/low 4*) committed & uncommitted types like Henry Ohlinger and RB Jayreon Campbell mixed with local, lower 3* types with limited Power 4 offers like Center Grove's Scifres & Columbus North's Elmore.  I wonder if this is part of the staff's approach to 'cap management' - offer and encourage local kids to visit that you know won't break the bank if they commit so you can be a bit more heavy-handed with the offers for others.

Well.. Elmores case is interesting. 6'5 athletic freak... but did not play last season due to transfer rules..

Played about half the season as a SO, but tore his ACL.

He and Scifres both committed. I am not convinced these are full schollies.

My wife is going to ask around tomorrow(she's an athletic trainer at Elmores school)

Does that happen frequently?  I’m a box of rocks when it comes to these things.  LOL. :)))

It's new to football. They previously had to be full scholarship or no scholarship for a few sports like football and basketball. Other sports already had partial scholarships.

Elmore full scholly.. I assume Scifres too.

Elmore was offered by Wake Forest right after we did. Total athletic freak, only recently starting to football strength train. Very good HS basketball player.

Scifres and Elmore both have plus plus athletic traits.
