You have to at least be triple digits in posts before throwing shade at Barrel Rick. -

I'm not Barrel Rick but from what I have heard from people I know. Not the Mullins, but it will come down to IU and UK and we're going to win out being the home team. We have the NIL, plus Woody really wants him. UCONN is too far and Michigan doesn't have enough time to catch up with us. -

Yeah for me it does. I don’t really give a crap about the NBA. I would rather have a college basketball grinder and lifer leading the program I’m most invested in -

I forgot that we're playing USC and UCLA at home too. Even though those are now considered conference games, they are a pretty big step up from what games against Northwestern or Penn State would have been. -

It's just a given. They are getting paid. No one is getting paid to "like the state of a program"... more than likely the reverse. They like the state of the program, so they are willing to take the check from Indiana. Ballo can get 7 figures from .... anywhere. Arkansas was offering more. Myles Rice, Carlyle? Those dudes were getting paid no matter where they went. Naive/Woodson hating to think they came here for the money in the forefront of their mind, when again, they can get that basically any school they were looking at. -

What is the data of Coach K, Scott Drew, Jay Wright, and Tony Bennet as compared to Dan Hurley? If you are going to throw them out compared to Dan Hurley, the data should be comparable. As far as what we all seen, Dan Hurley was an anomaly based on your data! It still looks like you just threw big names out there, do you get my gist? -

The current best coach in college basketball, Dan Hurley, would have been fired based on this boards criteria for retention well before winning his first title. Through 4 years at UConn, Hurley had: -two missed tournaments -zero tournament wins -both tournament losses to lower seeded teams -highest conference finish of 3rd place Jay Wright wouldn’t have made it here. Nor Scott Drew. Or Tony Bennet. Coach K would have been fired long before he ever saw national success. You need more or do you get my gist? -

I'd be interested in that list. Surely the few you can find would be the exception to the rule. You don't find a lot of success chasing exceptions against the rule. I honestly doubt there are any championship coaches in the modern era with a worse record than Creans first 3-4 seasons. There can't be that many worse than Archie's either. So that leaves Davis. A guy who quite obviously had his success with the previous coach's team and was on a downward trajectory--a trajectory IU has never really recovered from, not that Davis is entirely to blame for the last decade. Given hindsight is 20/20 and we now know all 3 of those guys are failures as high major coaches, I literally can't fathom the argument for keeping any of them longer. (With that said, I'm fine giving Woody this season given his NIL success). I'm definitely curious about your list. Go... -

1 pointWow. Assuming he has eligibility left (I think he has 1 year) and isn't going pro, Chris Guiliano should transfer to IU.

That’s not necessarily true. For instance, he was interested in UK but now his role there is already filled. If he waits until spring he also competes for money and a role against portal guys. -

1 pointPure speculation on my part but if Barrel really is a Mullins (I have no reason to doubt him. Simply don’t 100% know) it would not surprise me if the family asked Barrel to stfu until Braylon announces his decision. My above statement will look way off if Barrel updates us today, which I hope he does,….LOL

MemphisHoosier reacted to Lebowski for a post in a topic
First, his name is Kurtis Rourke not Nathan Rourke. Second, IU can be a football school, with money. Third, comparing Lander and Langford to this is just dumb. And if he's even remotely close to a healthy 2020 Penix, he ain't going anywhere because IUFB is playing in the CFP, either hosting a game or in the top 4. These dude's don't get that IU has money and is in arguably the best football conference in country. There's a reason Lewis is taking a serious look at IUFB. And all the boxes are checked. Thanks for sharing, appreciate hearing other folks' take on this. -

IUFB Offseason Updates

It happened when Revsine interviews Cig in the team room. Revsine talked about how good Tayven was, Cig gave a really short answer blowing that idea off and literally just stared through him. It was hilarious. I'd say it's fairly likely that Tayven looked good that day and they even admitted that they're seeing a tiny sample size out of a full camp. I'm a Tayven guy, but anyone with eyes or ears knows how this is going to go. I thought the guys were fair but it was pretty vanilla. I very much enjoyed the interviews with the coordinators though, especially Haines. I think we're going to see a Wommack-style attacking defense again under him. I liked the interview with Kamara (and Fischer, but mostly Kamara) too. -

I had to laugh watching the BTN preview show of IU from the other night. Griffith and Revsine were gushing about Tayven because he had apparently had a good day when they were there while Rourke seemed to have been a bit off - all according to the BTN guys of course. Cig was basically like "lol yeah, no." and stared a hole through Revsine's forehead.
