I like Shrewsberry, but the amount of love he gets as a 50-51 coach is absurd.

My take on this, as someone who doesn't actively root against the team but understands why one would, is that you'd probably go into every game thinking you're okay with either outcome. If we win, cool. If we lose, ultimately, one step closer to finding the right coach to take us where we all want to go (winning championships). I'd think it's one way of keeping yourself from being too invested in a product you don't believe in/coach you don't trust. I think you can definitely root for the team and players without supporting the coach. I don't think there is necessarily a Rubicon moment at all, because somebody who takes the approach of actively rooting against the team, would likely believe any success the team has this year is in spite of Woody, not because of Woody. If they go on a great run to finish the year, I think everyone would be happy about that. Some would remain skeptical that the success is sustainable/replicable. He would certainly get another year to prove whether he can achieve all he set out to do here.

Wanting to leave an IU assistant job for the same role at OSU? If true, that’s not a good look for Woody.

That’s not true! I for one liked the hire of Mike Woodson for many reasons but when he kept playing 2 bigs every year, didn’t seem to embrace the 3 ball, had poor roster construction last year but instead of taking responsibility for that, he blamed fans and pitted fans against fans, and his god like attitude really turned me off on him. He’s not a genuine good person, IMO and his entitlement attitude has really put that dagger in me for liking him as coach. I can state many other reasons but posting reasons is just repeating what I and many others have stated

That right there is actively working against the program. I’m not sure any of the major guys would’ve put that out there. Jesus those guys suck. Not mad at Walsh, that’s just how it goes and the position was presumably an upgrade, but that probably didn’t need to come to light.

Yeah, more layers to this story. What was his and Woody’s conversation like? The way I see it, I hope the way it unfolded, is Walsh saw questions with Woody’s future and was trying to get ahead of it. It doesn’t sound like it was for an upgraded position but a lateral position. However, he is from Ohio so I’m sure that was a big factor in all this. Definitely would seem like a precarious relationship going forward. But who knows.

There's got to be a way the program can shut these dorks up, cease and desist or something. If they've got more credible info/gossip like this and continue creating drama, it's just more evidence what a mistake it ever was to do business with them in the first place. And how the way the relationship was severed, was also handled poorly, in a potentially damaging way. There is no reason for them to air dirty laundry like this unless they're comfortable going scorched earth with MBB. Sigh. They're annoying like gnats.

Welp. Hysterics share a story that Brian wanted Ohio State assistant job with Diebler. Quit the Indiana job then apparently didn’t get the OSU job. Walsh is the Primary Mullins recruiter, maybe Sisley too. Clearly, if true and it’s being said this is multi sourced and likely true, this will lead to a frosty bench to some extent and maybe an awkward future. I would rather the Hysterics not share this stuff from a recruitng perpspective. Can’t help things.

Yeah I'm in the camp that says when you know a new coach is needed then you don't root for wins, all that can do is delay the inevitable, especially as poorly run as this program has been. A new coach is needed. He's not getting carried to an Elite 8 or anything; I've said it before an "I did my job" banner is the only banner Woodson would ever put in the rafters.
