Didn't hear the interview... but if Dakich thinks the program hasn't done anything for him, then that is truly mind blowing. After he graduated high school, he literally spent the next 16 years of his life attending and then working for Indiana University. Dakich's coaching career, his radio show, and his job at ESPN all happened because of those 16 years he spent in Bloomington. If he really doesn't think Indiana did anything for him, then he needs his head examined.

Fife was on DD show today and at first FF was being a a-hole to Fife. It was about how Dane thought the former players and how fractured they were. Fife thinks the former players had some responsibility to come back to help the program. DD said he had no responsibility to the program because they hadn't done anything for him. Later on DD said he always tries to get on Dane because that is how they communicate.

Dakich LOVES IU. He also tries to provoke reactions during his interviews, because it makes his show interesting. Dane Fife knows this—he’s the perfect foil for Dakich and more than capable of handling himself.

Fife and Dakich are close friends and give each other sh*t all the time. Nothing to read into it other than what any of us would be with our friends. That said, DD is a bad interviewer because he interrupts way too much. His takes are what they are and if you don't see the world as he does, you'll hate him. But as bad as he is at interviewing, yesterday was nothing but 2 friends blowing smoke back and forth.

Could be his choice…..he might be looking at places where he feels he could get the most playing time from the start.

Yeah, Hercy Miller was a 3 star recruit. This endorsement deal is because his dad is Master P. This won’t be the norm, imo. Also funny that his name is Hercy, his brother is Mercy, and his dad is Percy. Lol.

One of Master P’s sons had his own episode of MTV Cribs when he still a kid. I would consider this an outlier.

I like Fife's personality. He's not afraid to take shots at anyone and everyone. I believe he's taking those shots because he's friends with those peeps, although I could be completely wrong with that.

I thought TJD was a leader this off season... It was clear he was instrumental behind the scenes in bringing almost everyone back. I think X and TJD night be the perfect combo of leaders.

I appreciate your sharing. Kopp has a few years in the B1G already so is a known quantity. Obviously could break-out, but would expect incremental over evolutional improvement. Still just having a wing that can shoot will be a revelation for this team. Freshmen are Freshmen. Occasionally they are great, but usually underperform the hype. That is why I look forward to IU not depending on them like it seems we have for the last 20 years. I would hope that the #12 & #13 guys would red-shirt. No reason to waste a year of eligibility for occasional garbage time a walk-on can manage. My question is why doesn't basketball get the same treatment as football for red-shirting? In football a player can appear in 4 games, but none in basketball? What is that about? I hope Johnson is THE GUY we all want and IU has desperately needed for so long. Hates losing and not trying to make friends. WIN FREAKING GAMES.

Glad someone on the team has said this. I'm happy that I see a strong, vocal leader in Xavier and coach Hunter brought him in. But at the same time, I feel a little bit disappointed that the person had to be a transfer student, not one of the returning players. It's not easy for a transfer student to take over the leadership role, which really shows Xavier's character.

I have no inside info on this, just giving my 2 cents. With the new staff, they're not letting anyone close to the program till August. As in to see practices or anything like that.

Think this kid will end up being a Tiawan Mullen-type steal. Maybe not year 1 like Tiawan, but let’s just say I’m selfishly excited the VA HS football season got canceled so no one saw what they were missing.
