After dominating Rutgers last week, we head on the road to take on a Maryland team that looked like a top-10 team to start the season but has since cooled off. Maryland has struggled in recent weeks but still has plenty of talent to knock off anyone on any given Saturday. With dual-threat QB Tyrell Pigrome likely starting and their group of talented runningbacks, our defense will have to make sure we tackle and don't burned on the ground. Maryland does have the worst passing defense in the conference and was exposed by Purdue last week so they will have their hands full trying to slow down Penix and our talented receivers. Must remember that we are going on the road and life on the road in the Big Ten is never easy. We are currently a 5.5 point favorite and ESPN's Football Power Index gives us a 50.3% of winning on Saturday. Bill Connelly's SP+ metrics give us a 64% chance of winning. Yeah they have missed out on a ton of top targets in the 2020 class. Loveday, Burnett, Steward, Brakefield and Deivon Smith off the top of my head but there are some others as well. Recruiting can be fascinating. His first year he didn’t bring in any freshman class. In 2019 he knocked it out of the park with a killer class on paper and so far in 2020 has swung and miss. I'm counting a road game at Nebraska as a probable loss. Plus the Cornhuskers have an extra week to prepare for the Hoosiers. Not sure why folks have them on their list. My list of 2-3 teams that IU has a solid competitive chance at winning is Maryland, Northwestern and Purdue.

I might have some extra tickets to the event. Got 8 in anticipation of family/friends wanting to go, but so far not many have gotten back to me. If you're going to the Troy game and/or are/around bloomington and are intersted (cant guarantee extra tix just yet), let me know. So, in trying to figure out the rotation I'm trying to figure out which freshman if any will get meaningful minutes. I'm guessing moren, as a creature of habit, will start 1- patberg 2- penn 3- bendu (berger if bendu still injured) 4- wise 5-holmes?? Seems like an odd lineup but she rarely shakes up the lineup very much. I wouldnt mind seeing 1- beeler/patberg/wilson 2- penn/berger/warthen 3- patberg/yeaney/warthen 4- yeaney/wise/gulbe/allen 5- holmes/noveroske/allen/wisne(redshirt?) Seems like a lot of depth and that doesnt even include alexis Johnson or grace waggoner

I saw a little bit of the Colorado game. And a little bit of the Northwestern game. Nebraska is on a bye week and has two weeks of prep to host IU in a packed house. That's a very big deal. The only like opponent the two teams have is OSU to where the scores were just about the same. Today, Nebraska's SOS is tougher than IU's, which might not mean anything in the grand scheme of things. In my opinion, this is going to be a very tough road game for the Hoosiers. They'll have a chance but I don't have them winning this game. I hope I'm wrong and I'll gladly eat crow for saying it.

I could see a big wave of support if Allen was able to win 2 or 3 of the @Maryland, @Nebraska, vs. purdoodoo games to get to a bowl game. If we reach 7 or 8 wins before a bowl I could see an extension. However, if he fails to make a bowl game with 4 legit chances I could see a lot of people wanting a change.
