mdn82 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Not much great video on him. Looks lengthy which is good. The first step in this process is getting him here in June and adding 10-15 pounds on him. He struggled to get good positioning inside, some more meat on him should help him with that. From the sounds of it he will be a stretch 4 that won't see the paint unless the lane is open.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierAloha and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Stretch 4s still play in the paint. Look at someone like C WAt. He was a stretch 4 at IU and played some in the paint and on the perimeter. Just look at Malik Williams, who we were recruiting and who Moore put up 20 & 12 against, he plays inside and out. I expect the same from Moore. Quote

CWat was an excellent shooter though. Moore will probably be a shooter but more of a driver at the four and less of a back to the basket. I'm imaging a hybrid of Troy and CWat as a stretch four. mdn82, GloryDays, 323SGrant and 3 others 6 Quote

Ive seen four (very short) highlight clips of him and everything Ive seen from him , the majority of his offense work comes from starting on the block or top of the free throw lane. Not a lot of dribble drive, but mostly back to the basket. I think the majority of us are seeing him being a skinny kid and all of a sudden thinking he is going to be stationed out on the wing. But thats not what Im seeing on these short videos. Granted the competition level will be different but it seems like his go to move is either on the block or near the top of the free throw lane, backing his man down and shooting a jump shot over him. It will be interested to get more video, especially as his high school season starts in the next few months Quote

You alluded to the competition level not being great and I would imagine that it works there but not at the B1G level. I would love to see us operate in the high low this season and more in the future. (Pun intended) I won't be surprised if he posts some against smaller fours and takes big fours out to the arc. I'm not sold on him being the "big" answer but I think he's a nice piece that can contribute to a winning program. mdn82 and GloryDays 2 Quote
GloryDays Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 As far as the kid being thin I think theres plenty evidence that can be remedied.6'10'' with ball skills is a really good place to start. HoosierAloha, lillurk and IUsafety 3 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Sometimes I think the weight/bulk concerns are way overhyped. Kevin Durant anyone? Anthony Davis. And about 20 other examples. He can have a role even if lanky if skills are sufficient. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners HoosierAloha, Brass Cannon, GloryDays and 2 others 5 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 [/url] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI thought of that exact play when typing that reply above. He had some drives to the paint vs. puke at Assembly Hall too. I'm not saying CWat never drive it. I think we all remember him as a shooter first and in the post second and then some dribble drive. Troy was a driver first and a shooter second. I don't think Moore will be in the post with his back to the basket that much, especially his freshman year. I think he'll be shooting and driving it more than posting with his back to the basket. Quote

But i will say KD has gotten so much bigger compared to when he got into the League. Brandon Ingram played his first game last night and he was getting bullied out there by second unit guys. Quote

If all his strength is is in his legs he could spend time on the block. But I don't see that at all.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierAloha and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

Clifton Moore confirmed Thursday evening that he sent his paperwork in to Indiana coaches, becoming the third signee for the Hoosiers in the class of 2017. "There's a weight off my shoulders now," Moore told Inside Indiana. "Now I focus on getting better this season." That season starts Nov. 29 for his Hatboro-Horsham High School team in Horsham, Pennsylvania. He hopes to reach the 1,000-point mark while helping his team make a deep tournament run. Moore is the third signee in IU's 2017 class. He joins Georgia guard Aljami Durham, who signed Wednesday. He also joins Illinois wing Justin Smith, who also signed Wednesday. Indiana's class is ranked No. 32 by the 247Sports Composite and No. 5 in the Big Ten, and the Hoosiers are not expected to add any other players during this early signing period, which ends next Wednesday. http://indiana.247sports.com/Bolt/Moore-signs-Hoosiers-ink-3-during-early-period-48888729 Stuhoo, Walking Boot of Doom, IUsafety and 6 others 9 Quote
