Brass Cannon Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I’m hoping for a tie. In the modern day nfl that’s basically both teams losing BGVille Hoosierfan and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 The Steelers are mental midgets. I'll be shocked if they win this game. Quote
IUfan_Charlie Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The one time I'm rooting for the Pats they do this garbage. ugh BGVille Hoosierfan, Iugradman, DLG3 and 1 other 4 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The Pats' streak of 12 win seasons just ended. They had gone eight straight seasons with 12 or more wins, and now the best they can finish is 11-5. Previously, the record belonged to the Colts, who had seven straight 12 win seasons from 2003-2009. Hopefully the "tension in the organization" talk starts up again soon. Time to put finally Brady and those turds out to pasture. Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Division winners deserve to get in the postseason. That’s why divisions are a thing in the first place. Those eight teams host playoff games. It’s a good setup biteoftheapple 1 Quote

If a division somehow got left out, be better. But how will it make sense if the Chargers are traveling for their Wild Card game if they end up with the 2nd best record in the AFC? KC is #1 right now. They beat each other. KC gets home field and LAC goes on the road? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app It’s like when the 12-4 Colts played on the road at 8-8 Chargers. I don’t care that the game was on the road. Colts shouldn’t have lost that game. If truly a superior team, that much better a team won’t lose Quote
mdn82 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 That shouldn’t happen. A better team should have home field advantage. The NBA figured it out. Winning a division means jack squat. Makes scheduling a lot easier though having automatically 4 games against 4 other teams. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appIt’s typically 6 games against those in your division (typically 3 other teams) and it’s a rivalry game for the most part. Being a Bears fan I wouldn’t want it any other way. I want to watch the Bears against the Packers, Lions, and Vikings 6 times a year. I am perfectly content with the way things are. I know this isn’t hot take(y) enough to be in this convo, but I see no reason to change. Lmao you want to change the world huh? mdn82 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The Bears would just end up replacing the Lions with the Colts if they went East-West most likely. Though Detroit could stay in the West over Indy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI am cool. I like playing teams we have played for 100 years. mdn82 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 And you still would. Others may change. But that’s really the only part that’d really stay the same. If anything there needs to be division realignment. Miami is in the AFC East and Indy is in the AFC South... AFC East should be Patriots, Bills, Jets and Ravens. AFC North South should Titans, Texans, Jags and Dolphins. AFC North should be Steelers, Browns, Bengals and Colts. AFC West would stay the same. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI am just saying I am personally fine with the way things are and there aren’t many people I have seen suggest regional realignment. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I admit I don't watch much pro football anymore but from what little I have watched this season, this seems so appropriate. mdn82, WayneFleekHoosier, johnsoniu and 1 other 4 Quote

Change for change sake is foolish. Dalton26 1 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The two rule changes I would make are that even division winners need a .500 record. Otherwise the spot becomes another WC. And home field is determined by the better record. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I think there should be realignment between north/south instead of east/west. The south teams should play their road games in the north early in the season then all games against south teams. I think the patriots should have to move to North Dakota. That’s the price they should have to pay for being in bed with the league for so long. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners thebigweave, 8bucks, Joe DeLow and 1 other 4 Quote

biteoftheapple Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Maybe true. But the Colts currently have the advantage in the tie break procedures mdn82 1 Quote
