I believe that Carlie will be fine in the long run as an owner.  She was put in her position rather abruptly after her father passed away, and she is trying to learn all that she can about the team.  Personally, I believe that Ballard should have been let go a few years ago just because of the way they have handled the QB position since Luck abruptly retired.  Steichen seems to be a good coach, but that defense really needs some work.  A lot of the problems seems to be from a personnel problem for the last few years, and that falls on Ballard.

I think Steichen is a good OC but a bad HC

Colts have been a mess since late Manning years.  Lots of parallels with IUBB so far as upper management decisions.  I’m at least convinced but programs want to win and are trying to win.

I feel like the Colts need some change or shift.  Bad mojo and missed playoffs year after year deserves a looking into.   I’m not a Ballard fan.  Streiechen (sp?) is underwhelming.  I don’t hate him.  I like some of the stuff he does.

Beat me to it. The anti-Mendoza. The look on Cook’s face when he thinks about the question for a second and just says, “Diggs” would be horrifying if it wasn’t so funny.

Adam Schefter just reported that he feels Steichen and Ballard's jobs are safe for next year.  If that's true, the Irsay kids are as bad as their dad.  Why the heck do we keep deciding all is well within the Colts organization?

No way Ballard should be back

I think I said this before, Carlie gives me Jerry Jones meddling vibes.  But I suppose I'm in the fence with her.  Do well and I'm in.  Decide that *this* Colts football is good enough for you and I'm out.

Ballard must go.  No debate.  Keep him and you suck too.  Fire him and you want success.  Big decision time for Carlie.

I appear to be in the minority, but I am not a big fan of Carlie. I think she is in way over her head. I think she won't fire Ballard because I think she is afraid to make that big of a change. I wouldn't doubt if she is also leaning on Ballard right now and is afraid to lose her training wheels!

Kicking Pierce out is just more proof that the NFL hates the Colts!

NFL rules and officiating is a mess. Makes it mostly unwatchable for me. Whereas college has kind of settled back into a more reasonable rule set, especially with hitting the QB the NFL keeps twisting itself into knots.

Their dad, while sometimes lovable as a wacky character, was a bad football owner. He somehow backed into Polian and then Manning and was smart enough to let them do their thing. But every other decision was a terrible one. I certainly don’t expect his kids to be any smarter than.

I agree. Its getting harder for me to watch NFL. When I do, I'm not as into it as college games.

The Colts defense has been horrible for most of the year. The last game we let Houston's 2nd unit offense go score the game winning score vs our starters.

I am going to be interested on how Carlie is going to justify bringing back Ballard and Steichen. It is obvious either one should get another year
