Brass Cannon Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I think Kenpom changed his formula for this year and applied it to previous years data. Im like 99% sure Purdue and IU had been 14 and 15. Now they are 9 & 11 last year. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Jon Rothstein - 20 impact transfers for the 2016-17 college basketball season Josh Newkirk, Indiana: The 6-1 point guard has cheetah-like speed in the open floor and should be a menace defensively. Newkirk battled injuries during the tail end of his career at Pitt, but should be a suitable replacement for Yogi Ferrell at the most important position on the floor. yogisballin Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Like the way Mr. Bryant has bulked up, well really everybody has. De'Ron is huge for a freshman! Man if he could've gotten here earlier, how much bigger would he be? I'm excited for the season to start. Can't get here soon enough fellas! And yes I agree about our backcourt. Look like 2 "old guys". Hope they play like em as well HoosierAloha 1 Quote

There is just something about this years team that has me extremely optimistic. I kinda of go back and forth with my expectations but this might be the most complete team Crean has had. Should be able to contend for a Big Ten title. 30 minutes ago, Class of '66 Old Fart said: NBC Sports B1G preview: http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2016/10/11/big-ten-conference-preview-michigan-state-and-wisconsin-fight-for-the-top-spot/ Predict IU to finish 4th. League POY - TB Breakout Star- OG I just don't see a team comprised of mostly freshmen winning the big ten. The SEC maybe, but the Big Ten is to deep, inexperience gets tested every single night. The Purdue hype boggles my mind, they lost their best player and their guards are still going to be inferior to the other team 90% of the time. I really think the regular season title comes down to us or Wisconsin. Stuhoo, Hardwood83, yogisballin and 2 others 5 Quote

League POY - TB Breakout Star- OG I don't get some of these predictions but think if IU finishes outside of the top 3 it will be a disappointing season. I believe there was another preseason write up that had IU with 3 of the top 7 players (TB, OG, and JBJ) but was finishing fourth. This should be the deepest IU team in the Crean era. Also, Wisconsin vs. Syracuse as one of the top 5 noncon games?! We've seen it plenty of times and equates to a football game pre forward pass. I'll pass watching that game to watch paint dry. yogisballin and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

hurryinghoosier5 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I see Indiana as a top 15 team this year with the chance of getting hot and making a deep run. Yes, replacing Yogi is not an easy task, but this team will have a different identity. Our defense will be good at nearly every position and our frontcourt has the potential to dominate most teams. Also, guards that can fill it up. I don't get most assessments that this team has gotten. Bogus. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER and Crimson and Cream 2 Quote
