Kiffin is one of the biggest scumbags in college football. But Ole Miss should’ve known that going into it. I hope Ole Miss tells him to take a hike and doesn’t let him coach the playoffs. He’s basically the guy telling his wife he’s leaving her for his mistress after New Year’s but demanding one last Christmas with her and the kids.

This will be one to watch in the next 2-3 years, its been widely published that Sumrall really struggled to make in-roads with boosters at Troy and the timing was right for all parties when he bolted to replace Fritz Tulane.  Of course we shall see, but UF is a totally different beast than Troy or Tulane.  

Apologies for the crude analog, but this could quickly turn into an Archie Miller situation if Sumrall doesn't evolve his approach.

I’m a big Sumrall guy. Florida needs to work with him instead of actively sabotaging the program because their money people didn’t like the hire. I have a feeling they’ll be right back on the carousel in 3-4 years though.

Florida wins the carousel so far. I think Sumrall is awesome and will kick @$$ in Gainesville.

Not in my eyes.  Sumrall smells too much like the Napier hire to me.

Florida just isn’t that appealing of a job. It’s a second-tier SEC program with top of the first tier expectations. They weren’t going to be able to get anyone better than Sumrall.

I don't know about any of that.  But I do know you can win championships at Florida.

You can win championships at many schools in the NIL era. Florida is one of the few that will fire you if you don’t.

Same.  LSU will Probably be firing kiffin the same year.  Maybe they can just trade coaches.

You’ve got to appreciate Lane Kiffin for making the end of the Woody era drama seem like small potatoes! Key differences:  1) Kiffin won at Ole Miss at an unprecedented level for the school 2) Ole Miss would have done anything to keep him 3) At the end, Woody hated IU fans who saw the writing on the wall, and essentially expected success — and vice versa. His departure was far from graceful. Ole Miss fans might end up hating Lane for leaving, but not for coaching incompetence. Of course, the drama Kiffin has created at the end, quitting on a team going to the CFP, publicly dragging his decision out for weeks, etc. FAR outweighs Woody disappearing, failing to doing press obligations, and generally being bitter. 

Similarities: Both narcissistic drama queens who failed to appreciate the sacrifices made ($$$, emotional, personal commitments from players, etc.) by institutions and their fans to grace them with key position and multiples of generational wealth.

In a side note can’t believe I am cheering for Alabama to win so that Notre gets bounced from the playoffs
