He’s a straight up eye test guy and apologist for the traditional powers. Hell, he was still advocating for Bama over IU after they were boat raced by .500 Oklahoma, though with a little less enthusiasm. Pagoda 1 Quote

I’m sure it’ll be lovely and I really hope he’s got the full faculties activated but I don’t want to see it. He should have pulled the plug a couple of years ago. Last year was painful and I see no reason to think 8 months down the road will be better. But the dude’s one of the greats, so thanks for the memories, Coach. Dude is absolutely insufferable and has really poisoned what was a great show. Though in a way his ability to shill for the SEC for hours without coming up for air is remarkable. Pagoda 1 Quote

Saban, of course, was pushing the same narrative. They started out with a fairly reasonable tone implying that no one should be penalized in a close game between powerhouses like, as an example, Clemson-LSU. I actually agree with that to a degree. HOWEVER Saban steered that into a blanket “reward a win rather than penalize a loss narrative” which is his way of saying that Bama should not have been penalized for losing to crappy Vandy and crappy Oklahoma. It’s a false narrative to equate Texas losing at top 5 OSU to “let’s not penalize Bama for losing to Vandy”. Really tired of the SEC/ESPN narrative. Lebowski, Hoosierfan2017 and Pagoda 3 Quote

TTT Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Purdue has already scored 3 touchdowns before Ohio State has scored so far this season. Ohio State vs Texas tv announcers talking about the fantastic job both coaches have done putting together their respective teams/progams……I think they mean purchased their program….Lol. Ohio State getting ready to score. RoadRage 1 Quote
