ap2345 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Marcus Freeman is going to be named the head coach of Notre Dame and Tommy Rees is likely staying as OC Quote
Alford Bailey Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Mike Bobo is let go as Auburn OC. Had a three year deal at $1.3 million per year. Auburn owes him the remaining $2.6 million. Getting paid to be bad at your job then get paid to do nothing. Sweet deal. Quote

But, gotta say this: If you hire someone that no one else at the same level would hire for their gig, you may be prescient, but you’re gonna be wrong more often than you’re gonna be right. And Freeman wouldn’t get a sniff at any other elite program at this point. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Might as well do it now and hope he falls in the category of Smart, Dabo, Riley at OK and Day that all are at first stops as head coaches. Quote

I saw on Twitter that Freeman is the first FBS head coach to have a Rivals recruiting profile lol. 4-star LB in the class of 2004. Demo 1 Quote

He seems like a great guy and college football is more interesting when ND’s good. But, the team loving a guy is the worst reason in the entire world to pick a coach. I hope that had nothing to do with it. IUBB fans of a certain vintage could give Swarbrick some feedback on that. thebigweave 1 Quote

Kelly said at the start of the season in an interview that Freeman would be "the next head coach" some people took that to mean at Notre Dame some thought he meant the next one from his staff. I guess both proved accurate. He was viewed as a legitimate head coaching candidate in the near future and Notre Dame decided to just pull the trigger rather than look back with regret if he succeeded someplace else. Demo 1 Quote

Why would he. Plays in a crap conference that he can dominate. Oklahoma is going to the SEC. Why go to be behind Bama and Georiga every year. Like actual people, or Oklahoma fans that think they'll get him Quote
