Marcus Freeman is going to be named the head coach of Notre Dame and Tommy Rees is likely staying as OC

Seems like an impressive guy. But, gotta say this: If you hire someone that no one else at the same level would hire for their gig, you may be prescient, but you’re gonna be wrong more often than you’re gonna be right. And Freeman wouldn’t get a sniff at any other elite program at this point.

He was only a year or 2 away from that plus Notre Dame players and commits love him. Might as well do it now and hope he falls in the category of Smart, Dabo, Riley at OK and Day that all are at first stops as head coaches.

I saw on Twitter that Freeman is the first FBS head coach to have a Rivals recruiting profile lol. 4-star LB in the class of 2004.

I really hope he’s ready and succeeds. He seems like a great guy and college football is more interesting when ND’s good. But, the team loving a guy is the worst reason in the entire world to pick a coach. I hope that had nothing to do with it. IUBB fans of a certain vintage could give Swarbrick some feedback on that.

Every now and then 1 of those deals pops that makes you feel old as hell. That just did it.

That's not the only reason. Kelly said at the start of the season in an interview that Freeman would be "the next head coach" some people took that to mean at Notre Dame some thought he meant the next one from his staff. I guess both proved accurate. He was viewed as a legitimate head coaching candidate in the near future and Notre Dame decided to just pull the trigger rather than look back with regret if he succeeded someplace else.

Very difficult-to-believe Twitter rumblings about Dabo to Oklahoma, but it appears that the Clemson AD is going to Miami which really makes me start to wonder…

Brent Venables Clemson DC is what I’ve seen

Dabo's gonna make $10 mil/year at Clemson until Saban retires and go back home then.

Pete Thamel  --  Sources: Reports that Clemson AD Dan Radakovich will be the next AD at Miami are premature. Miami has targeted him as a candidate for the position, but no decisions have been made.

Better to be the guy that replaces the guy.

Yah. Why would he. Plays in a crap conference that he can dominate. Oklahoma is going to the SEC. Why go to be behind Bama and Georiga every year.

Like actual people, or Oklahoma fans that think they'll get him

So is Oregon gonna remain above Utah in the rankings after getting destroyed for the second time in 3 weeks by them. Guess if that Nike money is loud enough they will

I ain't too sure that Utah shouldn't be in the CFP.  Playing dang good ball right now.
