Hardwood83 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago IU is #4 somewhat by default. They certainly haven't been impressive, but wins count. I don't think they are a top 5 team either, but who is better? I haven't heard anyone complaining about Oregon being ranked at all. They are a terrible, disinterested football team with 3 losses and a couple of other close calls and yet are #23? Quote

They beat us at our place. They have a one point loss on the road to Texas and another loss on the road without their starting QB. Having two loss Texas, Bama and Ole Miss in front of them is crazy unless you factor in the QB situation. If teams are getting dinged for having a backup QB, I guess we better stick with Hoover. I think we’re 4th by default but the committee will have the B1G champ jump us if it isn’t us. ronzo4IU 1 Quote
Magnanimous Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We should’ve been #1 to start this season anyway, so I’m fine with us falling to #4 after losing to a then-healthy Ohio State team. Quote

Outrage for OSU at 12. Complaining about ND too low and Bama way too high. We all know and can see there is an SEC bias. I am guessing we are at 4 due to B1G being much weaker this year and the committee looks at us as the best team/metrics SOR/wins against .500 opponents plus a B1G title winner will presumably be getting a bye. TourColleges I'm avoiding these conversations at all costs because they're magnets for people who like to argue that a team shouldn't be ranked behind someone they beat and I feel like I get dumber when I interact with those people. Home Jersey Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago There's a rumor floating around among Miami fans that Toney may have gotten injured during practice today. Apparently the spread has moved in a way that implies the sharps like ND this week. skhoosier2 and Pagoda 2 Quote

The spread moving does kind of suck, but I'm not counting Miami out yet at all. ETA: Nevermind... I don't think they need him to win though. ND is missing 4 starters on defense. skhoosier2 1 Quote
skhoosier2 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I am so up in the air about who I want to win this game. I'd like to see ND taken down because their fans are insufferable, but I also do not want to see Miami go undefeated and win it all. Never want to see a guy like Toney go down though before this game. Hoping he plays. Quote

ronzo4IU Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I'm from the region so i am partial to ND. I loved the Lou Holtz era, but not much after that until Freeman. He seems like a pretty classy dude players love to play for. Every fan base has their whiney azz's like those of ours in our home stands booing last weekend. Knute Rockne and the Four Horsmen and a lot of ND tradition, (Rudy) is pretty cool if you ask me. If we can't win it all, I would much rather see another in state team win it than Miami, OSU, Alabama, Georgia etc... str8baller and KingPG21 2 Quote

The post game stuff, the stuffing the sidelines with celebs, the whole Mensah situation was sketch, just the vibe of their program. I dislike OSU. Bama, and some others. But Miami might be the one that could win it all that would irritate me the most. Edit: Oh the whole headset going dark on Miami's end on their last drive of the NC game. That just happened to get leaked by a Miami staffer to a Texas staffer. Or so they claim Quote

KingPG21 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago My biggest question is how is Bama at 5, but Tenneesee at 13. They played each other. Tenneesee won by 16, and it wasn't that close. If Tenneessee had a more competent offense they would have won by more. Think ND is low, even if their resume sucks Fine with us at 4. Too many SEC teams. I just don't buy Ole Miss, Texas or LSU. BtownStrength Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Just like OSU, they will get the opportunity to show if they can thrive without a big name player. Sucks for him, but Miami offense does not have excuses as they have enough firepower to win without him. Quote

It’s almost like multiple teams that are obstacles in our path to the title are losing their one indispensable player, while we repeatedly win games against any plausible odds.
