None of the B1G teams looked great....or even good, last night against the MAC. Wisconsin was up 3-0 on Miami late in the 3rd quarter. Tacked on a couple TD's, but can't pretend that isn't alarming. Minnesota wasn't much better against Buffalo, from what I saw. Very lack-luster offense. I didn't watch Rutger, but winning a shoot-out with Ohio isn't encouraging.

Nebraska at least played a big boy team, but was very average on offense and bad on defense against a one-dimensional Cincy offense. Sorsby can't throw.

IU only gets to play one of them (thanks super conference idiocy!) but if opening night is any indication, the Big Ten looks mediocre, at best.  No one picked any of these teams to be elite, but Neb & Minn were supposed to be upper half. If that happens, the lower half is sure gonna suck.

To be fair all of those MAC teams are consistent top half conference teams. They'd probably be able to compete with any mid level P4 team. Many of those MAC players will end up transferring to or will have come from P4 schools.

No clue if the NCAA will give this guy a 5th year (played sparingly as a true freshman albeit in 5 games but is listed as a R-Jr), but I hope the staff pursues Buffalo MLB Red Murdock as a potential replacement to Fisher should he enter the portal. Was second in the nation in tackles last year with 156 behind his own teammate who had 168. Also lead the nation in FF last year with 7. He was all over the field last night and in on 16 tackles for a pretty staunch Buffalo defense that gave Minnesota all they could handle. Is from Petersburg VA which is right in the this staffs wheelhouse and could have potentially been recruited to JMU.

Yeah, I thought for sure he would have transferred this year. I mentioned him here.

Three win ceiling.

Massey has them predicted at 5-7.  With conf. wins over Maryland, Washington, and Illinois.  lol.  Currently they are #27 in their ratings.

I am with you.  I see 3-9 and I might change that to 2-10 in another week or two.

Yea.  Wisconsin is really slipping.  Mediocre coach, they can’t hide in the Big 10 West anymore, and now other programs, including us, are starting to have some real recruiting success in their state.

I’m finding these developments to be… enjoyable.

The QB for Miami, DeQuan Finn, played for Toledo transferred to Baylor and then to Miami(OH).  This is his 7th year.....

Minnesota has Miami(OH) transfer Javon Tracy who had 3 catches for 71 yards against Buffalo last night. Last year, IUFB's QB transferred in from Ohio, it was his 6th year. The 6 and 7 year players will dwindle down due to the COVID year.

Fickell going there and immediately implementing the air raid was baffling. You will NEVER get the kids to Madison that run that effectively in this conference. If you squint you can see a Fickell/Cincy reunion on the horizon.

Who gets the Wiscy gig upon Luke's termination?

I think they go to Jim Leonhard at the Broncos and offer him the moon and the stars. Make him say no 10-15 times and then I’m really not sure. They need to get back to their roots dominating the trenches.

Think Luke gets at least one more year. AD is tied pretty heavily to him and will probably fight for him.

He might say “no” 100x. I think he felt pretty burned when they passed him over last time.  But maybe the money would heal that wound.

Monumentally stupid decision. For the reason you mentioned, the weather and culture. Wisconsin had 35yrs of identity they casually flushed. I'm thrilled, but it's still breath-taking how something that dumb wasn't scotched by someone.

Am I the only 1 with no interest in watching the Corso stuff today? I’m sure it’ll be lovely and I really hope he’s got the full faculties activated but I don’t want to see it. He should have pulled the plug a couple of years ago. Last year was painful and I see no reason to think 8 months down the road will be better. But the dude’s one of the greats, so thanks for the memories, Coach.

Well Luke did lead the Bearcats to a spot in the CFP.  It was considered a great hire at the time.  Just hasn't worked out at all.

I don't mind giving him a send-off, but can they talk about football some too?  This slurp fest is pretty annoying

Just tell me the last send off doesn’t include a 90yo man putting a Buckeye on his head.
