An underrated part of it that shows just how poorly we were thought of going into last season? "Before the game against UCLA on September 14th, the Hoosiers have two home games. Indiana should be favored to win both games as they host Florida International on August 31st and Western Illinois on September 6th." Yes ... "should be" favored against FIU and WIU. Should have taken the Hoosiers against the spread in every damn game last year. 9-4 against the spread (oddly enough one of our ATS losses was FIU) and led the country in both ATS +/- and margin of victory over the spread. There was good moolah to be made on IUFB last year. Lebowski and Stuhoo 2 Quote

He did kick someone's @$$ that game, in that stadium. I was there. It was awesome. That game was when I knew we had something special brewing in Bloomington. I'm looking forward to this season. On a different note, I think having 4 non-con games is the reason for 60% of the list being from one conference. Who knows. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 I came across something interesting. New Purdump football head coach Barry Odom looks, sounds, and explains his approach remarkably like an illustrious 'personality' from Indiana sports lore. I can show you. One of these photos is of Coach Oh-dumb. One of these images is our mystery doppelganger (or maybe the same person)!! TheWatShot Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 I've never understood the purpose in having a tough non-conference football schedule. I'd like to have at least one game outside of the Big Ten that's a compelling opponent and will draw viewers, but from all other angles? Pointless. go iu bb 1 Quote
Demo Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 The Big 12 unanimously turned down Memphis trying to buy membership by offering something like a quarter billion in revenue enhancements and foregoing of rev share. You know your program’s got a problem if 250 million can’t buy you in. Quote

Lebowski Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 This is wild and I wonder if Belichick has anything to do with this. If that happens that'll cause an ACC panic. I would bet the house Clemson would join them. That would put the SEC at 18 schools and leaves the ACC scrambling just like the PAC12 pre SC and UCLA. It'll then be a race to scoop up the ACC schools to get to 20 in both the Big Ten and SEC. Notre Dame will be absolutely destroyed and forced to join a conference. Likely schools to join the SEC: UNC Clemson Florida State Miami Likely schools to join the Big Ten: Louisville Notre Dame Other schools in the mix: Duke, Va Tech, NC State, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Stanford Quote

From what I remember, that is what has been keeping FSU and Clemson from bolting the last few years. Quote

Isn't the ACC contracted with ESPN, just like the SEC? Quote

From what I remember, that is what has been keeping FSU and Clemson from bolting the last few years. The ACC settled with FSU and Clemson to give them more of the media $ and reduce the exit fee. Next season’s new exit fee is $165M, which then decreases by $18M per year until 2030-31, when the fee would be $75M. Additionally, schools can maintain their media rights if they decide to leave the conference before 2036. As you can tell, this was a temp fix and the conference's days are numbered. 2031 or so will likely be the end. So who do we (the B1G) want? ND would be great if they got squeezed and had to join a conference. They will fight that to the end. Personally, I don't care about fit with the conference -- sports, academics, geography, who cares! I just want some new media markets to increase our revenue! That's college sports baby! I'd say Miami and FSU... Florida is a nice big market for the B1G network and our other media partners. That would be so exciting. ;-) jermhoosierfan and Lebowski 2 Quote

When I Googled it, I got this from AI (for what it's worth). I don't see any of them leaving for another 5 years unless they sue, and who knows what can happen then. AI Overview In short, the primary reason why teams cannot easily leave the ACC is the Grant of Rights (GOR) agreement combined with significant exit fees. Here's a breakdown: Grant of Rights: This agreement, signed by all member schools, irrevocably grants their media rights to the ACC until 2036. Even if a school were to leave the conference, the ACC would still control the broadcast rights to its games, and the departing school wouldn't receive that revenue, according to Raleigh News & Observer. Exit Fees: Leaving the ACC also involves hefty financial penalties. The exit fee is currently around $165 million for fiscal year 2026, dropping incrementally until it reaches $75 million in 2030-31 and remaining there until the GOR expires. Lebowski 1 Quote

All four of them have extreme benefits for the conference. Quote
