Ugh. Worst case scenario

To be a young multi-millionaire in the greatest city on the planet?

The football will be fine - teams tend to come and go as better and not better, and players change teams every now and then. But not waking up every morning in Phoenix (sorry AZ Hoosier) or Jacksonville-downtown activity zero as a 23 year old is a wonderful thing.

This is a pretty sweet scenario for Omar Cooper.

Watch McVay and then try to tell me he was on board with Simpson.

Ty Simpson and many other QBs in recent years aren't 1st round picks lol

Bain was on the board...

I love NYC. Lived there for awhile. Long enough to see that franchise is legitimately cursed.

He’s gonna love living there. But that stadium/field was built on some ancient sacred territory

I hate to be that guy but the Jets and the Giants play in East Rutherford NJ (aka one of the mafia's old dumping grounds for bodies) and the Jets practice facility is deep in suburban NJ. A small town called Florham Park that's about an hour from Manhattan. Most of the players live closer to the practice facility than NYC.

Still a super nice area with a lot going on, but not NYC and not exactly around the corner from where he is likely living. More Giants players live in / near NYC because they practice at MetLife Stadium too (this year they're going to WV because of the World Cup at MetLife) and that's only about 30 minutes from Manhattan. Still, most of them are in Jersey in Hoboken.

The Jets franchise is so terrible. Could do worse than Geno throwing him the ball I guess. Hopefully he gets some good tape and then is traded to a competitive team.

Just for my own amusement.

RD1: Mendoza, Coop
RD2: Ponds
RD3: Sarratt
RD4: Fisher
RD5: Black, Nowakowski
RD6: Coogan
RD7: Hemby, Moore

We'll see post draft FA signings as well. If any of the guys above don't get drafted they get picked up along with Kamara, Daley, Wyatt, Benson, and maybe Franke

That was close. I was sweating bullets until the Jets pulled through!

I'm viewing Coop to the Jets a little differently. They're building a roster for the next franchise QB. I get it, that seems to be an endless task for this organization but it's something both Coop and McCrary-Ball can be a part of and maybe put an IUFB stamp on it in a big market. The Jets picked some solid football players and who knows if they'll pan out. Next year, they'll get another 1st round pick curtesy of the Indianapolis Colts. And depending on how bad either organization does this year they're looking at a real possibility of having multiple picks in the top 5! Next year's QB class will be solid. As a Colts fan, I'd be way more optimistic if the Colts were doing the things the Jets are doing right now. But that's just me.

Regardless, I'm really happy for both Nando and Coop! Let's keep this draft IUFB players going here on day 2.

I think I’d rather my new organization not be notoriously horrendous, with a 2nd year coach who’s probably on his way to being a DC again, and hoping Geno Smith gets me the ball than live somewhere cool. Outside of Green Bay, it’s pretty good to be an NFL player lifestyle-wise no matter where you end up. The Jets suck and don’t look to be improving any time soon.

I’m sure there’s a way for a place to look more soulless, but it doesn’t immediately leap to mind.

As good as it gets in downtown Jax? City Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art:

And the entire one block downtown restaurant district:

And no, I am not joking.

I don't think a lot will change with the Jets till Johnson is gone.  They have had a couple of decent years with Ryan, but they have to be cursed somehow since Nameth.

My Bears drafted the guy whom Roman Henby flattened in Eugene in October.

Sigh ...

Was disappointed this is who the Bears picked. My wife said everyone on X was clamoring for him to be picked and she kept saying he sucked against IU what am I not seeing here?  We both hoped the Bears would go D line. It sounded like they did try to trade up but the price was too steep.
