Coaching Rumors

Recommended Posts

I doubt anything comes of this but I'm not ready to totally disregard these rumors  just yet. I wouldn't be surprised by anything in todays world. Other SEC schools are at least trying to compete with UK , hiring some big name coaches, so what if Vandy is willing to put forth the cash to do the same with a guy who has done decent against Calipari? Not out of the realm of possibility. Crean could also use this to get another extension as well. How would that go over in Hoosierdom?

CTC's son has committed to play baseball at Cincy and it's a lot closer from IU to Cincy than it is from Vandy to Cincy.  Just sayin'.

So, what you are saying is Crean will take Macks job at X when he jumps for the bigger gig. Makes sense close to his kid and catholic school as well.:92:

In 'football-ville', they couldn't keep James Franklin from going to Penn St while they were still dealing with their penalties. But now they're gonna pony up to lure coaches making top 10 money in basketball?

I'm pretty deep in the just a rumor camp but ability to beat Cal is definitely a quality of Crean's. That gives this theory that perfect nugget of truth that makes me want to roll with it.

Who knows what Vandy is thinking. I think it very unlikely. But I've learned to never say never. My guess is they are looking for a long term guy and they want to make a big  splash with this hire. Just playing devils advocate. Everybody likes Crean right now so that means he is probably getting ready to leave.

Or they let James Franklin go bc they recognized that while he had a nice record he didn't beat anyone that was good. At PSU he still hasn't beaten anyone good.
