Hoosiers219 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 The time of year where late signees and recently grad transfer talk starts to surface. With the Spring signing period rapidly approaching and semesters soon to wind down, it is always an amusing practice to speculate and scan media outlets about prospective late additions. What do people think about these possibilities as our beloved Hoosiers move forward? I'm inclined to believe Troy is gone. He seems to have elevated his game recently with good Troy showing up far more than bad Troy. He is probably a late 2nd rounder in my estimation. I do not believe anyone else leaves based on their body of work so far. What addition to the team with our 2016 recruits, senior departures and Troy out of the picture makes sense? A wing? Another front court player? UPDATED TRANSFER LIST hoosierpap and Ranger78 2 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 We need a wing if Troy does leave. We have plenty of guards although a true point guard wouldn't be a bad idea either. Hoosiers219 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 All depends on who leaves. Until then we don't have many holes. Guards- Newkirk, JBJ, Rob, Cujo, Green Wings-Troy, Hartman, OG, Juwan, Gelon Bigs-TB, DDavis, Priller TB leaves? Big hole Troy leaves? Hole JB leaves? Scoring hole. Hoosiers219 Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Seems like we could use a wing or another big in the rotation. A true PG would be nice, but I thought that was what Newkirk was supposed to be. OG should be able to be that an athletic wing, but you can never have too many. ;) CTC seems to have a pension for filling in the gaps late. Let's hope it's more Max B and less GMM. Defenserocks28 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 @JeffRabjohns: 6-6 shooter Austin Arians has requested a full release from Milwaukee, per his AAU coach. Will graduate at end of semester. Has scored more than 900 points in 3 years. Expect high major interest. Shot .350 from 3 pt land and under .400 from the field in general. Won't judge too much though. Max was about a .300 3 pt shooter before coming to IU. This year he was .441. If Austin can bring his shooting up a bit, could be a useful player for helping spread the floor. Do we know what type of defender he is? Quote
Str8Hoosiers Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 2016 UofL Signee Frankie Hughes (6'3" Shooting gaurd) has been released from his Letter of Intent. 3-Star out of Ohio Had previous offers from VCU, Wisconsin, & St Joe's..... Would this fill a need at IU? **** Also not sure how all this works but if you have already signed and you decide to transfer I am guessing you don't have to sit since you never actually joined the team? I always here the sigh of relief when a player signs officially but this seems to be a case that even that doesn't mean much until they are actually on campus and with the team. Quote

Str8Hoosiers Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 We have nearly a million guards coming in next year. Losing 2 (Yogi & Nick), Gaining 4 (Cujo, Grant, Green, Newkirk) In my opinion losing our best 2 shooters, and only gaining 1 shooter (GG), correct? Newkirk is supposed to be a true PG, Green & Cujo are more wing/slashers. A 3-star shooter that could develop over 4 years would be a nice commodity.... Of course if we risk that we basically lose any room for potential 5 stars (Rawle & Thon)... *** Maybe more importantly I can see this kid going on to Wisconsin and then in a couple years killing us... and I would hate that LOL Quote

Str8Hoosiers Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 From what I hear Green can shoot and don't forget James and Rojo are back as well. Gotcha, I thought he was more of a driver but you could very well be correct that he is a shooter and if so that lowers any thoughts of looking for another shooter. I believe JBJ will be at IU 1 more year, & Rojo graduates in 2... Hughes could be fully developed and ready to step up by that time.... Same could be said for our current incoming class as well obviosuly.... Just saying you can never have too many shooters!!! Especially in our system. Quote
