Are there new rumors going around or what ? Nothing on twitter at all about Kansas or Vandy. All IU talk. Not a single tweet about a Kansas visit earlier this week. Who knows

Little blurb from Kansas City Star yesterday.

What are KU's odds to land Romeo Langford, Rivals' sixth-ranked player in the 2018 class who is announcing April 30?

Let's say it this way: KU is probably not the favorite, but it's also difficult to ever rule coach Bill Self out in these types of situations.

ESPN's Jeff Borzello wrote about Langford some in an Insider article two days ago, saying KU is making a late push even if Indiana is still considered the leader.

To address the second Twitter question above: No, I don't believe the KU-FBI situation should affect Langford's recruitment. Our Sam Mellinger wrote a good story on the topic earlier this week, and as he mentioned, nothing from the FBI has linked KU's coaching staff or program to having knowledge of the payments made by Adidas' Jim Gatto to KU players.

A weird radio interview from Keelon Lawson this week (that I'm sure he wishes he wouldn't have done) might have raised the attention of people who haven't followed the situation closely, but for Langford, I wouldn't think the latest FBI findings would affect his thoughts on KU.

It that even points to true basis for this type of comment but it's also difficult to ever rule coach Bill Self out in these types of situations.

Well if the Langford family are the type of people we all believe them to be up to this point, they would surely stay away from being involved with any type of bribes Kansas tries to throw their way. They should know darn well that in just a year or two’s time from now, Romeo will be making all the money his family could ever dream of once he’s drafted in the league. Why risk doing dirty business with Kansas for a one year fling? IU is going to propel him to new heights and he’s gonna be making bank when he’s done with the candy stripes.

There has to be a way to trace or identify these payments. We know Josh Jackson got paid to go to Kansas. Wiggins most likely as well. It’s not like Self has some new sales pitch he is keeping in his back pocket.

Highly likely that Billy Preston didn't buy his own Lambo

Exactly. Kansas won't put him on a bigger stage season-long than IU will.

At this point I think it's mostly IU fans (myself included) who are just fully expecting one of the other two schools to start picking up steam and the winds to start changing direction. We've seen it happen all too often: we get close to landing a 5 star recruit, some insiders feel good about our chances, then things start changing and the recruit ends up signing with someone else. The Garland recruitment was a textbook example of this.

Remember, I had a dream earlier this week that I was at the announcement and he picked Kansas. So if he picks Kansas, I get to brag about how I can predict recruitments in my sleep.

He isn’t announcing for Kansas or Vanderbilt in front of four thousand IU fans.

It really is as simple as that. All this Kansas talk was bound to happen and no one is gonna come out and shoot anything down because they want the hype and excitement to build up leading people to really wonder what he’s gonna do. If his mind is made up and he knows he’s going to IU, there’s really no reason for Romeo or his family to come out and deny any anti-IU rumor. They let people talk and make the announcement when it’s time.  As long as he knows hes coming to IU they will just let the hype and suspense build up.

I can't imagine for 1 second that anyone in this scenario would have the audacity to set up a public announcement and then shun 99% of the people there. If he's not going to IU, it would only make sense for a private, intimate group of friends and family.

I personally think that one of the biggest indicators that it is IU was the silence after Jerry Meyer indicated that it's a "done deal". I'm assuming Romeo and family heard/read what the head recruiting analyst at the nation's largest recruiting site said. And yet we heard nothing after. If it were not true wouldn't he or Tim have came out and denied that claim?

Kansas "insiders" are misinformed. Self tried getting in another visit from what I heard, but Tim told him no per Romeo's request that is well known now. Apparently someone in the Langford camp said that Tim was telling Romeo if he wasn't sure he needed to talk to with ALL 3 not just one so he didn't jump to conclusions off one visit. So if all 3 visited without ANYONE knowing then that is impressive. Not saying Self didn't but it isn't likely and if he did then so did Archie & Bryce. Maybe they facetimed or something who knows haha.
Calm down people it's not even a big deal anymore. BTW 8 days, 18 hours, 51 minutes & 32 seconds away from finding out where Romeo will go lol.

Thanks yogi!

Idk why people took it as a bad thing regardless. All a visit at this point would have done was reassure Romeo no FBI findings and that his decision was the right one, so his mind was already made up on Kansas and all it did was make it solid. It would mean a lot more negative things for Kansas IMHO. Romeo telling Self they were out and he made one last attempt, the Langford's were seriously worried about the FBI thing which isn't going to just go away so what could Self really say? I just find it funny a month ago we were 100% getting the last visit but people still assumed it wasn't us, but since it's Kansas it means it would be over and it's them? I know this recruitment has been long and stressful, but I just think Romeo has his mind up by now and nothing will change it unless something drastic happens. It's late April, every school knows what their roster is going to look like or a great idea of it. Vandy taking Moyer kind of gave me a sign that they know they're out unless I'm not counting someone towards their scholly situation.

Well, why would they though, when Meyer had his pick for Vanderbilt they didn't say anything either.
