Eternal optimist is not totally accurate. I don't think everything could go IU's way. However, yes I'm a lot more positive since Archie came here. And on Romeo, I just think he'll decide in the fall

I default to the position that it doesn't make sense for a guy of his caliber to commit in the fall.

A player like Romeo will only have 1 shot at winning an NCAA championship. If you were in the same position, you'd want to know what the team looks like before deciding.

Deng is a 'for sure' gone this year. He probably could have gone this psst season. VJ a very different story. Didn't play as well as expected. Slow developing into what Rick wanted. They expect alot this year. Perry will get run as backup PG behind senior Snider. There is alot of pieces at the 2/3. Primarly expected as King and some Deng. Deng started mostly at 3 last year. Expect Williams to get lots of time there and splitting with Mamoud at the 4 spot. Williams is thought to become Rick's first one and done at UofL.

From the games I watched Williams play he has a little work to do in my opinion. I would say brian bowen would be a better candidate to be a 1 and done

U of L is gonna have plenty of talent regardless. Malik Williams, one of Brian Bowen or V.J King no way both do enough to go pro with Deng Adel, a senior Quentin Snider, Courtney Ramsey, Anfernee Simons, Jordan Nwora, Ray Spadling, Darius Perry & whoever else they get in this class. Dwayne Sutton who is a forgotten kid who played well before transferring as a freshmen.

It is possible they win a title this year & MAYBE Adel, King & Bowen all go pro and maybe even Spadling. They would still be very good and with him a contender again. Sorry but U of L is set up too good for the next 2 seasons for talent to be used as any reason to be concerned and wait around.

Bowen, King, Adel & Sutton as well as Perry & Nwora will all split time on the wing this year. At least 4 are back next year and that is still enough talent to make Romeo think. If they get Dort & add Simons & Ramey to the mix it gets even more complicated. Romeo can play ANYWHERE. I just think there is too much talent on the wings. It'd be different if the talent difference was far apart, but Bowen, King & Simons are all 5 stars, Sutton was a highly sought after transfer, Perry & Nwora look seem under ranked & they are still after more guys. Honestly I would think UK would be an easier route talent wise. From the 2 to wing spots that is. Even if he wants to play point he will have at the very least a senior Snider, Ramey & Perry as well as maybe Dort to compete for minutes with. No way all these kids are okay playing 15-20 mpg.

Snider is a senior this season. In the past, FR rarely get a bulk of minutes at UofL. It's a difficult, full court pressure defense to pick up as a freshman. If you don't pick it up quick, you don't play the mins that you would want. This is going to be a very, very club this season.

Brian Snow posted an article talking about recruits setting visits and featured a picture of Romeo. Paywall is blocking it though. Does anybody know when he's planning on doing his officials?

I disagree with the assertion that IU doesn't need him. Just think of the message that sends not only in-state but nationally as well. It would say that Archie means business. IU needs that type of appeal again

I don't think defines need. We don't need one and done talent to get to the top again. If Archie is the coach we think he is he will be able to do that with a core of guys in the 20-100 range. It would be nice to have him and agree it would send a message but us being a top 10 team in a few years and being that every year is the biggest message he can send

I have no doubt Archie will have IU as a perennial top 10 team. But getting the best in-state talent to stay home is huge
