Certainly makes sense since he lives maybe 10 miles from the UofL campus. I was born in New Albany and went to games with my dad. That was back in the Wesley Unseld days. The the Wesley Cox period. Dude had serious hops. Used to play pick up with Darrell Griffith in Clarksville. Those were SERIOUS pick up games. Artis Gilmore , Dan Issel, Charlie Mitchell (7' from NA) Bobby Turner, Tommy Baker (IU), Chuck Franz, and tons of other talent from the area. Griffith was 6'4" with a 48" vertical leap!! ****!

I remember Al McGuire doing a Louisville game and Wesley Cox picked up a Volkswagen front end and moved it a foot.Strong and a great player too.I was s bit of a fan of the Crum teams as a kid being so close to Louisville. With Sextino not so much.

If Louisville faces additional sanctions
and thats a big if that could play a role but all the other blue bloods are there.I guess we could hope his family wants him close so they can see him play.I agree, just dont feel it.

IMO it's that Crean can't recruit well with high ranked players in Indiana or elsewhere but we've beat this one to death already.

I think it's more than that. I think it might be Crean reacting to things that have happened in the recent past.

Example:
2012 and 2013 classes were full of recruits with questionable characters. He's now put an emphasis on high character kids.

2013-2014 we lacked shooters. He's not put an emphasis on getting shooters.

Recruiting is constantly evolving to mold your program the best way you see to win and stay out of trouble. It's not limited to IU. I'm not sure exactly why he's struck out with many top level players the last few years. As fleek posted in a different thread; can Crean continue to find, develop, and win with underrated recruits?

This horse is dead unfortunately... Crean can't recruit in-state and seems to be ok with it, and the aura of Indiana basketball just isn't what it used to be. Time to accept and move on.

Do you think getting rid of the "everyone gets a trophy" class basketball in Indiana would improve the aura?

They have the whole Wake Forest football scandal to throw the NCAA off. UL won't be punished anymore for hooker gate. It's the way the NCAA operates..
