That would be a violation on Indiana’s part since Henry signed a LOI if true.

Hypothetically, let's assume Henry is seriously thinking of decommitting.  So if Henry initiates a contact completely on his own we have to hang up the phone on him?   It's meant as a serious question because I don't know the answer or the ins and outs of the NCAA rule book that would come into play in such a scenario.  And I assume there's always the back door approach via high school coach, AAU coach, etc., to determine if IU is even still interested?  Inquiring minds want to know.

It’s not true as described, but there are surely ways to have back-channel communications with a player that’s backing out of his commitment.

I agree with this. And if it's true (not saying I think it is) I'm not upset by it. Seems like a great kid and a great athlete. We Could do far worse.

Just spoke with a guy whose son plays at Warren Central and knows Aaron Henry pretty well and said that Archie met with him 2 weeks ago and word is that he's decommitting from MSU in the midst of all that is going on and will be coming to Bloomington next year. He said the writing isn't completely on the wall but that speaks volume about what Archie thinks our chances are to land Romeo...if true of course. Looks like Archie has a solid backup plan in place.

Isn't Henry an undersized 6'5 forward? Romeo is a guard last I checked so not sure how that shows wring on a wall. MS would have to let him out anyway and so far the bball program has not been implicated. So not really sure what his grounds would even be asking for a release.

We don't need Henry.  We already have Smith, Hunter, and Anderson.

Just curious are you locking in with Vandy then?

Yes. Here is my honest belief. Indiana coaches "will have a final chance to sell Romeo on how he fits in the program".

Will Indiana match Vandy's offer? I don't think so. But you never truly know for sure. Will Kansas? Maybe.

You forgot a few things
- drewfus is a master recruiter, coach, and the fantastic fours ugly cousin
-crean still loves deflections and diet coke
- garland is possibly the worst teenager ever
- miss lippys car is green
- romeo is definitely going to IU
- romeo is definitely going to vandy
-there have been 370 confirmed heart attacks on this thread [emoji2]

Don't forget Romeo is committing after his game on ESPN or during halftime. Done deal.

Hypothetically, My guess would be his AAU coach or High school coach lets IU’s staff know what is happening and IU’s staff would let him know if they are interested.  Once he is released from LOI then IU would make contact

I believe he signed in the fall. He can’t de commit. He would have to be released and that wouldn’t happen without a coaching change.

Kids are actually getting released more frequently without a coaching change lately. Waters got released out of his last year when JT3 was still the coach ( he was fired after) The school has every right to not release them even if there is a coaching change but that would be a bad PR move

Wow, that sounds similar to the Eric Gordon saga. :107:

I don’t disagree with that, but it would only make sense if Izzo is getting fired. Hard to believe they would let him out of his letter of intent without stipulations. Just doesn’t happen without a coach getting fired or family emergency.
