Think there's any chance Damezi could play well enough to take Mr BB?

Based on his stats last year, it could be a closer race than many anticipate.

I actually think so. It’s Romeo’s to lose but Damezi can give it a go

No CAM tonight but since coaches are limited to the number of times a coach can watch, you don’t want to use them all up in November when he isn’t decided until later. Having most the basketball team show up to watch has to stick out

What is the rule? I thought coaches could watch within certain times as much as they wanted to, there were just limitations on the number of contacts/communication.

Sounds like I am wrong, curious what the rules are

My bad. Chance Coyle with 38 points. He was honestly the best player on the floor tonight. How that dude is going to just USI is unreal

I went to the game as well. He's way better than USI. He's the type of player that goes to Butler and lights IU up for 30 in a win and makes you wonder why he wasn't recruited to IU.

Wow he can probably get to 4th. I don't see him catching Damon though.

From the New Albany News & Tribune:

New Albany proved it can win without a big game from Romeo Langford.

The senior star tallied a team-high 24 points, including only two in the fourth quarter, but several other Bulldogs stepped up in a big way in a 70-58 win at Bloomington South on Saturday night.

Sean East scored 20 points, including 13 in the final period, and Julien Hunter chipped in with 10. Derrick Stevenson added nine points — seven in the decisive third quarter — and Trey Hourigan scored seven for No. 1 New Albany (2-0), which outpointed the eighth-ranked Panthers 44-30 in the second half after trailing by two at halftime.

The Bulldogs’ balance helped offset a huge game by Bloomington South standout Chance Coyle. The 6-foot-4 senior guard, who has committed to Southern Indiana, scored a game-high 38 points on 14 of 17 shooting from the field and 6 of 7 shooting from the foul line. Adam Graham added 13 off the bench, but no other player had more than three for the Panthers (1-1).

New Albany opened the game with a 13-2 run and led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter, but Bloomington South responded with a 12-0 surge to start the second period behind Coyle. He single-handedly outscored the Bulldogs (10-9) in the quarter. Coyle's second 3-pointer of the period pushed the Panthers’ lead to 28-21 before Langford scored five straight to cut New Albany’s halftime deficit to two.

Spearheaded by Stevenson, the Bulldogs outscored South 23-13 in the third quarter. East took the reigns in the fourth quarter when New Albany had a 21-17 advantage.

“I feel like this game was a good test for us early in the season to see how we handle adversity,” Langford said. “We started off good then they hit us in the mouth and I thought we responded fairly well to it.”

Langford followed up his career-high 48-point effort in the season-opener against Charlestown with half of that, but it still helped him continue his ascension up the state’s all-time scoring list. With 2,151 points, he now sits in 21st place. He’s five points behind former Pike standout Chris Thomas and 27 behind current Houston Rocket and 10-year NBA vet Eric Gordon.

It's been Vandy all along though guys as I've been saying.  Romeo was never going to tell Darius no.

He's also one of them that was pushing the Donovan thing too.

Sorry to the guy on the rivals site and as I've said not gonna share info I hear but this is an exception. I heard this morning very worst it is IU and Vandy to the end. Romeo may not end up going to IU but very worse case he will keep them in it till the end being the home school. Everyone has said all 3 have a shot with KU losing a little ground with Grimes. KU plans to play 2 pgs next year though. Vandy does sound like the leader RIGHT NOW, but they just got 2 5 stars and the relationship he has with Darius was always gonna make people jump to Vandy. I won't predict where he goes anymore but IU still has a shot.

I'm not even worried about Romeo, honestly. If he doesn't come we will be fine. I think Jerome Hunter will be an impact player from day 1, and I think Damezi Anderson is really underrated. His 3 point shooting should get him minutes right away.

Vandy has the 2 flashy 5 star recruits to get Romeo's attention, but I would still take our class over theirs. We will have a more talented roster for Romeo next year than Vandy will, imo.
