Except that it is a list from a story that ASKED LANGFORD HIMSELF. So it is one opinion, his. Which is all that matters

I would keep him mind they asked a sophomore at an aau event a question that every high major recruit gets asked by the media at every event. That answer might change next week. It's hard to put stock in the answers to these questions when they will change often. Iu had been working the hardest in the Rawle and pinson sweepstakes at various times during their recruitments. Iu also wasn't working the hardest during these recruitments as well according to both. One thing I have learned from following recruiting closely is not to take what some of these kids to the media too seriously

This is gonna be a tough one. May very well be  a top 5 recruit at this rate. I'm not getting my hopes up but if Crean were to land Romeo it would be huge to beat out all the big boys for an top in state kid.

Alternatively, it's a big blow to lose another top end recruit to an out of state school. Really makes a big statement to recruits one way or the other.

I realize we can't get all of them, but we will be "Elite" again when we consistently get our In-State targets. We need to be a destination school.

I'm speaking in general terms. Wilkes, Scruggs, Langford will be good measuring sticks.

I think this is fair.

I think it's also important to note ( and I'm not saying you are saying this but in general) that the landscape of the whole in state recruiting thing has changed from what I feel like most people generally think of who have been following basketball for some time. Much more of a national scene thanks, mostly, in part to technology. Just a truth, nothing to do with IU, Crean or the administration.

I agree, but I just don't think it's realistic at all to expect the top Indiana kids to want to go to IU all of the time. That concept, much like a lot of others kicked around here and elsewhere, are relics of an era long gone.

Of those top kids, how many grew up watching IU as a fan? Probably 0. Basketball players now were flying places for tournaments starting in 3rd grade. It's not like they've never left Heltonville, Indiana. They love the big programs. Crean goes hard after a ton of guys, so we should get our share. But it's not like it'll be some big failure if some don't come. The kids are the ones picking here.

Edit: looks like Pap beat me to the punch and said it much more succinctly

It's also important to note that geographically we are the third closest big time major team coming after Romeo. Louisville is really, really close, and Kentucky is also a bit closer to his hometown.

True.. Almost hard to call IU the hometown team when Louisville is literally about 10 mins away.

Bye, Romeo.

Duke offered Romeo Langford @yeahyeah_22 tonight according to New Albany coach Jim Shannon.

This open and shut idea of Langford to Duke is just off. He may commit there and I still won't be wrong about that. Heard some stuff about Duke

As much as I tried to follow Langford this past season, I've completely lost track of whether or not we've actually extended him an offer.  Surely we have haven't we?

About 7 months ago. Here's our '18 offers as of now. In order. fyi, if it's a thread I started that's usually noted in the first post.

Easley

Kabongo

Phinisee

Langford

Jallow

Garland
