DawgBawls Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Not what happened. I had it on the DVR and replayed it twice...and it was pretty funny:As the game ended CTC started walking toward Wisky Coach Gard with his hand starting to stretch out for a handshakeWisky freshman Ethan Happ walks toward the handshake line and past CTC just as CTC sticks his hand outHaap thinks CTC is giving him a quick 'good game, kid' slap, and returns the gesture by slapping hands with CTCHapp continues to the back of the line, and CTC looks confused ...again ...I guess Im old school and just dont get the "slap"...its a handshake, eye contact, then walk away....but I an ahole I guess... He might have just been passing by...but his hand was out... then not, it just looked weird to me... Quote
8bucks Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Man, without James, we play our worst offensive game of the year and best defensive. Even though he's been out for 3 games now, I'm really starting to notice how nice it is to have him on O. Defense travels better than offense (or so they said during an NFL game this weekend). I would be fine with this team becoming a gritty defensive bunch even if we sacrificed offense. GloryDays 1 Quote

Bowhunter Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I liked our D... hated our turnovers... confused with Rob and Troy's play. Happy we won and sad we lost JBJ for potentially the rest of the season! USMCHoosier, Napleshoosier and JaybobHoosier 3 Quote
cappymo14 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Thanks so much for pulling that out. It means so much to me when we play Chucky. I understand that you guys don't think so but you're wrong, Chucky IS a good team...don't think so? Our offense, the whole nation talks about, just was held below 60 and very nearly lost if Collin gets any closer. I never thought IU would hold Joe's barber college/Gormet taco stand under 60 much less a B1G team. Well done. ou812dude and Bobman1 2 Quote
hoosiers55 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 After this game tonight I think crean needs to seriously consider starting OG and have Troy come in off the bench MikeRoberts, ALASKA HOOSIER and Defenserocks28 3 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Like many I was happy with the win, but disappointed with some of the performances. To me, if Yogi can dish evenly with his attacks, he will be the top guard we all know he can be. RoJo and Troy are in a bad funk, but will break out of it. I those three play well, we are a top 20 team with the defense we showed tonight. Just a rough offensive night for the team besides OG. Man, OG has been the man lately. We are going to have an awesome backcourt next year with Bryant, De'Ron, Hartman, OG, and Morgan. Anyway, need to get the offense back, and no way we lose Sunday. coonhounds 1 Quote

seanmm1971 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 As ugly as it was offensively, and tunnovers, the defense was strong. And the ability to win games when the offense has an off night, well that's new.lets just leave it at that. MikeRoberts, Stuhoo, mdn82 and 1 other 4 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I have never seen so many shots go 3/4 down in the rim and come back out. That was a weird game. I dont think Blackmon being out had much of anything to do with what we just saw on offense. There was very little assertiveness on offense tonight and all the good shots literally just rattled and rolled around the rim. I need to go back and watch but that is exactly the kind of defense we need to lock in a foot hold to win the big ten And yes, this team without Blackmon can win the big ten. This Chucky fan, who wouldn't know a basketball if I hit him in the face with one, lean's over and say's, "Double bonus? Is that right? But there is 7 minutes left in the first half?" I couldn't do anything. I sat there, slack jawed, and stared like an idiot. No comeback, No gunplay. Sad. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

And the ability to win games when the offense has an off night, well that's new.lets just leave it at that. Yeah....pretty much this. When's the last time you can remember Wisconsin having a total of 6 assists? We had 18 turnovers and 13 assists. Bad. But we out-rebounded them by 5, shoy 7% better than they did from the floor, blocked 3 more shots, and were PERFECT 10-10 from the FT line. Didn't get there enough, and had just 2 with 6:00 to go; but closed really well. We're not a great team, and that was not a pretty win...but I like 3-0, even if I think our offense looks just Godawful. The defense was much better, and other than Yogi trying (again) to do too much, I thought we were pretty efficient when we didn't turn the ball over. 18 turnovers is abysmal in a game with a pace than slow. Work to do, but we're better defensively when Blackmon's out. I know we'll miss his points, but that defense was a far better showing. HoosierAloha and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

I know you're a footbal junkie but a frontcourt of De'Ron, Bryant, OG, and Morgan is going to be awesome. Hartman will provide some senior leadership for those guys. I think OG has the ability to play the 3 in that frontcourt and would make that a great, albeit young, group. Still think we need a solid guard to add to next year's roster. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 TOrate of 30.6% and we still won... Defense has improved a lot since Maui. Agree with poster above, I can't recall a time so many shots went 1/2 or 3/4 of the way down and came back out. Napleshoosier 1 Quote
