ap2345 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 louisville has set up an official for him as well. They have already offered his younger brother who is a 2022 recruit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appYeah they have missed out on a ton of top targets in the 2020 class. Loveday, Burnett, Steward, Brakefield and Deivon Smith off the top of my head but there are some others as well. Recruiting can be fascinating. His first year he didn’t bring in any freshman class. In 2019 he knocked it out of the park with a killer class on paper and so far in 2020 has swung and miss. My guess he will end up bringing in a solid class but right now he has some fans in panic mode( shocking I know fans panicking before the early signing period has even started) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ElectricBoogaloo, barrettballer, Walking Boot of Doom and 4 others 7 Quote

Can’t imagine Todd will want to pick Kansas with all the swirling drama. That they made the final 2 is interesting by itself. Popular Post Stromboli Posted October 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 17, 2019 Maybe this was already discussed. Dre Davis played AAU with Indy Heat, same team as Ivey, Pack and Furst. Ivey of course has committed to Purdue and in my view projects to be a very good player for them (he was over 43% from 3 at EYBL, averaged over 14 ppg). There has been some rumbling that he would decommit, but that could just be speculative chatter. I went to watch some of the games at EYBL. Watching the game, Davis was the guy that got your attention. Just the most active and aggressive out there, making things happen. And then you'd look up who this kid is, and you'd see that he's got a (then) low rank and committed to Nebraska of all things. It really didn't fit. I think with that early commitment to a basic nobody team, nobody paid too much attention to him. But he absolutely showed out. Averaged 17.9 points, and 6.1 rebounds. Only 41% shooting, but still a guy making plays. Plays more like a small forward than a SG. Maybe Ivey got in his ear to go to Purdue? The Louisville offers to Dre and his little brother is an interesting wrinkle. Purdue fans seem to want to bank the scholarship, or find another big to keep the pipeline going there. With his now open recruitment, I'd bet there are some programs that would have liked to watch him play. I would not say that I got the impression that he's a star in the making. But he is a productive player, and effort alone can go a long way. As an aside... I'm pretty pro-player in all things. That said I really hope de-commitments don't become a common thing in CBB. pumpfake, IUsafety, thebigweave and 6 others 8 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners There’s a pretty good workout video of Edey on You Tube. He’s a long way away. Nowhere close to Haarms in terms of movement or bend and not nearly the frame and bulk of Haas. When he puts the ball on the floor with his left hand he looks like a kid in freshman gym. But Painter seems to get these right. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Purdue has a type, and that’s having a huge guy or 2. He’ll redshirt him as necessary. Time will tell, but big man track record is solid of late. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners ElectricBoogaloo and 8bucks 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I think Archie would have us right there if he were "allowed" to recruit. We ask our coaches to recruit with one hand tied behind their back. Trying to play the game by rules that dont exist anymore. I believe even Crean alluded to this. thebigweave and BGleas 2 Quote

I believe that was exactly what he was alluding to when he said the administration and him didn't see things eye to eye. Or they were working against him or whatever phrasing it was. The interesting thing here is Indiana got Romeo, but Adidas was taking care of the Langfords through AAU so I'm not sure exactly sure how this plays into other recruits. We clearly know many of these players believe they are worth it, and many are. The evidence is out there for this. Either its big time with Zion Williamson, Deandre Ayton types. Heck even Brian Bowen ended up being a 6 figure kid and he was a low 5 star or high 4 star. I DO think its possible to be successful and clean or at least relatively clean but the odds are stacked against you. I don't even know what model we fit in right now. Maybe Purdue, with a little bit higher top end?? I guess if our coach can coach em up, this could work. I want to be noted in the same breathe as the heavyweights some day and i'm not sure that is ever going to happen again. recruiting will change with the one and done rule gone, but the cheater programs will still continue to land the best talent. Then it hurts us for 2 or 3 years instead of 1 and honestly could widen the gap even further from the cheaters to the clean programs. Edited November 22, 2019 by WayneFleekHoosier Quote
