fwgreenway Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Don't mean to sound like Mr Obvious, but even if JBJ stays we will still have a class of at least 6 including a transfer? MartintheMopMan and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
MartintheMopMan Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Don't mean to sound like Mr Obvious, but even if JBJ stays we will still have a class of at least 6 including a transfer? What do you mean? We currently have two spots open for 2016 and 3 committed. Oh, you mean if Troy leaves and JBJ stays, it will still be 6 spots? Yes. You are right. Anyone leaving who isn't a senior will push us over 5 spots. Quote
fwgreenway Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Yes. I might not have been clear, but you got it right MartintheMopMan. Quote
Sota Hoosier Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Stating the obvious here....but this class is so key for CTC. He needs to not only have successful seasons (as defined by the IU fanbase) but have sustained success. People have short-term memories and dwell on negatives but if we can be competing for Big Ten Championships and consistently getting high seeds in the tourney and making some deep runs, CTC will be employed here and the fanbase will respond positively. Getting DD was huge let's hope TB learns from the Vonleh experience and stays another year to develop and improve his skillset. I think there is an outside chance JBJ stays so we could be locked and loaded next year, especially if we add a Brown/Alkins/Maker to the mix. TB (DD w/ Juwan/OG/Maker at the 4) DD (Juwan) Maker? CH (OG) Rawle? JBJ (Cujo) RJ (Newkirk) Quote
Hoosier DaDa Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 We were one of if not the first to offer Alkins but we don't seem to be mentioned that prominently with him. At this point I think we should make Brown our #1 priority and show him all the love we can. In the long run he may be a better fit as he's not seen as a 1 & done type but could bring the defensive physicality at the guard position this team sorely needs. I'm not saying give up on Alkins at all but I really think Brown is the more viable option and the resources should be directed more towards him. Think Jim Thomas! I loved Jim Thomas back in the day. rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I don't know, if all is how it sounds Rawle is an option that I think we need to lock In. Special talent that guy is. Is that you YODA? May the force be with you! Hoosiers219 and Crimson and Cream 2 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Sounds like Diallo has not committed to VCU yet? Anybody know if we have offered Diallo yet? Quote

KelleyHoosh Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 The BB news, if he does ultimately decide on IU, provides serious momentum. If we have a good season, I can very realistically see us adding a guy like Thon/Rawle and being dynamite for a few years. Would be great rebelhoosier848891, JaybobHoosier, Crimson and Cream and 4 others 7 Quote

Brass Cannon Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 This is awesome to if we can get him this semester. Frees us up to focus on Rawle and then attract a grad transfer with the final scholarship. Im also super excited at the prospect of a defensive backcourt with our shortest rotation player being 6'3 bac72205, lillurk and Kepner 3 Quote
Bobman1 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 If Blackmon stays and we get Brown. Do you think we'd go with a Brown, Rojo, Blackmon, lineup with two traditional bigs and no traditional SF. Or start OG instead of one of those three at the 3? Quote

Do you think we'd go with a Brown, Rojo, Blackmon, lineup with two traditional bigs and no traditional SF. Or start OG instead of one of those three at the 3? I think it will be much easier to play with a 3 guard lineup due to having a frontcourt of DD and TB. They will shore up the paint and rebound very well. I think OG would have to really improve to justify starting over Rojo. But if he did wow. Quote
Kepner Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I think if Blackmon Jr stays (which I think he will) him and Rojo will start with either Newark, Brown, or Cujo in the backcourt with DD and Bryant down low. You can easily play a three guard lineup when you have two great big men down low WayneFleekHoosier and Bobman1 2 Quote
coonhounds Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Agree ----get Brown and we are building some serious MO !that is why it is crucial that we have a great season this year with no off court issues. We need a great season so the fans and get back on Creans side and keep this recruiting momentum going rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote
