IU vs. PSU Post Game Thread

I was thinking this during the game.  He's a good complimentary back, not a feature back.

And if a defense doesn't have to respect a passer, they can just key on him. He doesn't have the playmaking ability of a Tevin Coleman. But I really don't get why ramming your helmet up a O-lineman's butt is supposed to get you anything.

All you have to do is watch tape on Mark Sanchez to know that's a bad idea.

Tough game. Honestly not too many positives to take away from that. Losing Zander hurts, hopefully he's good to go for next week.

Think it was smart not risking Sudfeld or Howard. Sounds like at a minimum Sudfeld will be good for next week. He should be enough for us to beat Rutgers, and hopefully we will get Howard back the following week.

I can still see us going 7-5, which would be good

Losing Diamont only hurts if Sudfeld isn't ready to go.  I wouldn't wish injury on someone but let's be real, he's a "QB" with no pocket awareness that can't throw.

Yeah, Diamont hurts in that if we have to go with Cameron we are absolutely done for. Diamont can run at least

So like I said, he only hurts if Sudfeld isn't ready.  Running isn't a necessity at the QB position, pocket awareness and throwing are; right now he can't really play the QB position.

I'm starting to get scared about our QB situation for next season. It seems like CKW's offense needs a QB who has a strong arm that can attack the intermediate part of the field. I love Zander's competitiveness and athletic ability, but it appears he isn't a good fit for CKW's offense.

Jones and Cobbs have downfield ability, but their talents have been wasted since Sudfeld hurt his ankle. Real shame, I was hoping for better today, but this offense doesn't have the same sort of firepower without a QB that can threaten all levels with his arm.

We go to 9 conference games next year, so we lose an "easy" C-USA/MAC game. Either CKW is going to have to do a better job of building his offense around Zander's talents, or we better hope Austin King is ready and/or land a top JUCO/5th year transfer.

Have to also remember that Zander has gained 30 pounds in one year and will keep gaining weight and get stronger. Pocket awareness only comes with experience and last year being 150, I can understand being terrified all the time so that experience didn't help much. If he's the main focus over the offseason, the throwing aspect will come.

I was camping all day Saturday and into Sunday morning.  I watched only the first quarter this morning as I already knew the outcome.  I deleted the game prior to knowing that Diamont was injured (otherwise I'd just find out for myself).  What happened there?  Bad injury?

@MikeMillerHT: Wilson said Diamont is dealing with shoulder injury and a concussion. http://t.co/24qXSfs8z7

Wilson kind of played it down but he took two big hits on one play.

Too many drops also by our receivers and tight ends. Hang on to the few balls that were on target! Cameron's arm >Diamont's arm.

Yeah there were a few times Diamont hit his target and they dropped it. WRs, outside of Jones and Paige, have been shaky this year.

When Sudfeld and Roberson were young they showed much more promise than what we have seen with Zander. Not seeing that same promise with our younger guys right now
