Since you've looked around at other boards, honest question: are they similar to ours in terms of generating and clinging to daily rumors? Do they seem capable of rational discussion without being labeled "us" or "them"? On in intelligence scale where do ours rank?

Other boards discuss the same rumors. It feels to me that the overwhelming majority of other boards want Crean to be gone. You get the same few voices saying Crean deserves more time. So it's the majority (us) and the minority (them). As far as intelligence scale, I've seen some blind loyalty for Crean by people who when challenged and given facts can't/wont respond to why he should stay. They usually try to deflect or name call and turn it into an us vs them.

He's looking for ANYA option to leave that is viable. Europe is dumb, won't do that. If he can somehow find a way to transfer w/o sitting he'll leave. If he can or has impressed some NBA team SOMEHOW and will get drafted in 1 two rds, I say he's gone.

Too much was asked of JBJ this year. He had good nights and bad ones (conference road games). Lots of minutes for a freshman. Hope he works on D and comes back a more well-rounded player next year.

I've seen fans on both sides doing that. Let's cut the whole act that those who want Crean gone are more intelligent than those who want him to stay. No one will be right until it plays out.

I've always kinda felt we got JBJ by default. His decommitt was a little late and options at other schools were not there so he had to come back to IU to get minutes.

Heard from a guy you all know from ESPN that right before his announcement on ESPN he showed his cell phone and had two missed calls from CTC and eight from Calipari. Texts from both asking where he was going. Most unusual, that is not normally how that goes.

James even said himself he didn't know where he was going until he went on the air. He was going back and forth. From what I remember he said he had both hats with him at the studio.

He was offered by IU, Michigan State and a number of others. It wasn't that late in the process. He could've gone wherever he wanted and started except maybe UK. Make no mistake he did not come here by default.

He had his pick of whatever school he wanted. When he decomitted UK came at him hard as well as Kansas. Michigan St and Michigan were coming at him very hard as well.

JBJ is an outstanding basketball player and I am glad that he is in the stripes.

 

Here are a couple of reality points that might have contributed to the 2nd half of the season:

 

1.  He had a hard time adjusting to the speed and size of college ball.

2.  He realized in December that he wasn't a one-and-done.

3.  He has a lot to work on in his game (especially defense).

4.  He wasn't going to be the B1G Freshman of the Year.

 

JBJ is used to being on top.  Maybe these points have something to do with it.  Transferring is not the answer!  Being mature and working on the things that will make you great will get you back on top.  Realize that this is a team game. Style points and highlight reels won't win games.

 

You will be fine next year!
