In our last 3 coaching changes I don't recall one instance when our new coach "poached" a player or recruit from his previous program.  It's an honorable thing to do, I suppose, but other coaches do it.  I'll chalk this up to the old saying "no good deed goes unpunished."
Big article in Minneapolis paper on him tonight. They passed on him also and he was not ranked high. Nobody saw this coming.

A few great finishes tonight!

NC State vs. Clemson finish was bananas. Both teams tried their best to lose that game.

Told a buddy that even though Ill was 9/12 from deep and Iowa had 11 TOs the game wasn't over. Ill, like Minny, will give a game away if you let them.

Oregon played a solid game on the road. ASU will try to outscore you but aren't committed to defense. Could be an early round upset pick.

O$U is looking good. Bates-Diop is playing like a poised senior. Tate is all heart and hustle. I'd take him as an undersized big everyday of the week.

There may be a big takeaway from this story: Archie spotted his talent and successfully recruited him while at Dayton.

This. No one knew he was going to be this good. Had Miller "Creaned" Al or anyone else for Wright with similar ranking, they would have been up on arms. Hindsight is everyone's friend

Watching my kids was the best part of being a dad. As much as I love College Basketball, I'm glad I missed games.

I hear ya. I'm coaching 2 teams this year (6th grade). It's a lot of fun watching the kids progress and learn to be better players.

So much fun! I coached my daughter's 4th grade team Wednesday, coaching my 2nd grade son's team tonight, then taking all 3 kids to our high school game, then coaching my son's other team Saturday morning.

I'll say this though, thank god for the invention of the DVR. Don't know how my parents did it without that.

THIS is what we are going up against in the facilities war:

Yep, Kentucky’s football team sure paid for that one.

Edit: I am as shocked as you Glass didn’t fix this in the last few days since this was completed for $4 million at UK. An improved football team would for sure raise that $4-$5 million that is keeping all of those players away. Let’s start there first instead of asking a booster for $4 million. Far more logical.

Personally, I’ve never selected a new job based on facilities. I picked based on my managers, teammates, success of the company, potential to succeed during my time there, and the opportunities it provided me to learn and grow.

Oh, and compensation, but that’s where this analogy gets controversial.

Seriously though, facilities sure add a nice “wow” factor, but the items I listed above are certainly more important for anyone planning for more than a 9 month stay.

Very impressive facility for sure. Let’s say they don’t pay their players for argument sake. What those kids get beyond that is a walking violation. The apartments with a full time cook. Their area to chill or watch game film? UK is a legitimate semi pro organization that has no concerns or care about student athlete. As long as they are aloud? Why not? I think if we started anywhere an updated apartment would be nice.

Their apartments are nicer. NBA players don’t get as many amenities.
