Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Illinois transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands has committed to DePaul, he tells Scout. Averaged 8 PPG. As a refresher, Coleman-Lands and Tyger Campbell ('18 DePaul commit) both attend(ed) LaLumiere HS and were coached by now DePaul assistant coach Shane Heirman. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Have already seen multiple comments about Slimeball not necessarily taking the best players but rather his own recruits or kids he's trying hard to recruit. Hopefully the backlash is strong enough to bring about a genuine change in the process. ALASKA HOOSIER, bnkepner, mdn82 and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post mdn82 Posted July 9, 2017 Popular Post Posted July 9, 2017 Just a few tweets I saw and I'm sure there are hundreds more. I would hope it would impact recruiting but we all know it's about connections. [/url] Fortunately or unfortunately most every player has a mentality they aren't concerned with the stopgap to the NBA. Of course they want to win but that isn't the most important aspect of that one year. I truly do think Calipari does good with all of the egos he encounters. That aspect along with the handlers can't be easy. But those players are there to improve connections, maintain visibility, and become part of a brand expected to go to the NBA after one year. Calipari was no different coaching these kids. He used it to his advantage. He could care less if he wins it is how you market yourself. Tubby Smith had a title within a couple of years in Kentucky and he was fired. Calipari has won a title and they throw money at him to keep him there and act like he is an innovator. Dude is the best con artist of our generation and gets paid close to $10 million a year to be that con. HoosierAloha Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Completely agree. It's a great situation for those kids who are truly one and done. They go to Lexington where they live in top notch dorms, have great publicity from ESPN, play against other kids who are interested in the same path, schoolwork is tertiary to basketball and other interest, etc. Cal is a perfect fit for that school as both are conning the system. It will be interesting to see if the G League develops into a true farm system for the NBA. If they start paying more than they can get in Lexington Cal might be running to something new. mdn82 and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Boeiheim, Williams, Calipari, Pitino, all have this too big too fail, untouchable air about them and it's disgusting. They should all be barred from coaching and have everything they've accomplished wiped from the books. They have completely ruined the game we all love and the worthless NCAA has allowed them to do itSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER, Class of '66 Old Fart, HoosierHoops1 and 1 other 4 Quote
