Brass Cannon Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I think the odds makers understand that we had all the talent in the world last year to compete. Hell we beat the National Champs for gods sakes. We just lacked fundamentals which is something Archie will give us. CookHallGymRat, ALASKA HOOSIER and IUsafety 3 Quote

I think the odds makers have a good idea of where to find a lot of suckers willing to bet way more money than they should (see us, UK, Duke, Louisville fans, etc.)Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Josh and IUsafety 2 Quote

VO5 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Swanigan is entering the draft without hiring an agent. No idea why he wouldn't. I don't think there is any chance he can up his draft stock by coming back to college. He's maxed as a player at this level IUsafety, Crimson and Cream, ALASKA HOOSIER and 2 others 5 Quote

Hovadipo Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Many people don't agree with me, but I think there's a place in the league for Swanigan. I love that guy as a player. Napleshoosier, waitingon6, VO5 and 2 others 5 Quote

He's a great college player, no doubt. I think he can carve out a decent niche in the league, but he will have to be drafted by the right team for that to happen. He's undersized and not overly quick or athletic for his position. He will have to make his living as a mid-range shooter and overwork people down low. He could be Zac Randolph light at his best, IMO. Quote
Trish Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Not an NBA player at all. Too slow to play the 4/5 in today's league. He'd be a role player at best. He's basically another Tyler Hansbourgh Quote

Swanigan can at least work outside of 8 feet consistently if need be.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Class of '66 Old Fart and Hovadipo 2 Quote

He can figure out a role somewhere and stick in the league. His instincts are too good for him not to be able to play, plus his shot will only get better. He won't be great, but he'll make some money. VO5, mdn82, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Zach Randolph is probably the best comparison. He's not as quick as a Draymond Green type but could play the 5 in a smaller lineup. He'll need to continue to work on his body and quickness if he hopes to play the 4 in the NBA. Good role player but nothing more. mdn82 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app He's improved his mid-range game yes. I can see a little Z-Bo in him. The league is changing each year with the 4/5 position. We're getting smaller and more perimeter oriented. Quote

We're getting smaller and more perimeter oriented. I don't disagree with that in the least. He is a 4 in an ideal scenario. But defensively he will struggle whether a 4 or 5. I think he could be a solid role player, but he will struggle on a team that runs consistently.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Borzello: The Lawsons went to Memphis once Josh Pastner hired their father as an assistant coach. Still several assistant openings at the BCS level... Quote

Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Dedric Lawson is probably the biggest transfer in a very long time who actually performed in college. Man it would be nice to see him here but K.J is going with him. K.J is very good too, but Dedric will be an NBA player.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
