KingPG21 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Who leaves Kentucky will be interesting. Because they need 5 to leave. I'm Ulis, Poythress and Murray. Then Hawkins transfers and I think they have a bench warmer with a scholly. They'll be big again and athletic. There isn't a chance Skal is back next year. He clearly isn't ready for the NBA, but he had enough eligibility issues coming in, can't see him staying past one year. Could see Briscoe bolting if he gets evals back that would make him want to leave, but would probably be a mistake. Quote

Trish Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 How is UNC even eligible for basketball after the fake class stuff? Unbelievable If that happened at IU, they would probably cancel the season. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Unbelievable If that happened at IU, they would probably cancel the season. From another thread I said: The NCAA has not let UNC or Louisville off the hook for anything. There is absolutely no indication UNC or Louisville will not be punished by the NCAA other than the story line of "the NCAA never punishes blue chip programs". The NCAA is not a monolithic entity and these sweeping generalizations are not necessarily wrong, but they also aren't facts. Last I heard/checked, UNC is still in the late discovery phase of their proceeding with hundreds of charges leveled in the Notice of Allegations and hundreds of thousands of documents being sorted through. The NCAA optimistically expected to be able to provide a better picture of UNC's situation sooner, but some self-reported infractions late last year resulted in delay as they now have to be included in the investigation. While this is a quasi-legal proceeding, I can say from similar experiences (as offensive as it may be to relate them) cases the size of UNCs could take years and no one involved would blink. The speed at which the NCAA renders a decision and then goes through the appeals process is ridiculously fast by comparison. They'll still be punished more lightly that a MVC school would be for the same violations, but it's just not a finished process. Stuhoo 1 Quote

X-Hoosier Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Don't know where to put this but thought it was interesting and surprising. The NCAA posted a 9 million dollar DEFICIT for 2015. That's not good. Quote

Looking at you, Rutgers/PSU/Minnesota/Northwestern/Nebraska. There will probably be at least 2 coaching vacancies in the B1G this year, hopefully Rutgers and Illinois can find quality candidates. hoosierpap Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 he has his best class coming in next year that features 2 top 100 kids he actually beat us out for ( Carr and Stevens both Philly kids so no big surprise) Chambers played/coached @ Philly U then coached under Jay Wright at Nova. He's from Radnor which is about a half hour from the city. What I'm saying is the ties are definitely there to recruit Philly/South Jersey which was something Penn St. has had trouble with. Also, Carr's HS teammate Nazeer Bostick is committed for next year. Pipelining Roman Catholic is a smart idea. He has a couple philly kids on there now, most notably Shep Garner. He comes from a rough area but man could that kid ball in HS. Quote
