What in the world does a show clause do to a coach that's already employed?  It means he can't leave his current job for a new one for at least two years?  Ooohhhh

It means that if the AD wants to renegotiate that contract he is going to save some money

I'm getting really confused....have been reading some sights saying that a player who did not get drafted can still return to college as long as they announced their intention to their athletic direction prior to 5 pm Monday following the NBA draft.  But the memorandums I've read from the NCAA dispute that:

"Question No. 1: Is a student-athlete allowed to enter the NBA Draft prior to exhausting NCAA eligibility4 (i.e., NBA early entry candidate) and subsequently return to school?

Answer: YES! A student-athlete may enter a professional basketball league’s draft without jeopardizing his collegiate eligibility,

provided:

a. He requests an evaluation from the NBA’s Undergraduate Advisory Committee before entering the draft;

b. He withdraws his name from the NBA Draft not later than 10 days after the conclusion of the NBA Draft combine;

c. He declares his intention to resume intercollegiate participation not later than 10 days after the conclusion of the NBA Draft combine. This declaration must be in writing to his director of athletics; and

d. He is not drafted by any team.

Seems to me that parts b and c would mean the player would have had to remove their name from the NBA draft by May 28th.

But here is a site that disputes that deadline:

June 26th - Deadline for Undrafted Players: Monday, June 26th at 5 p.m. is the deadline for undrafted players to inform their school's Athletic Director they wish to return to college.

Rupp rafters going to implode….after Oscar T didn’t get drafted they were hoping he’d cone back to UK.  Instead he just signed a two way deal with the pacers.  Will make $280K per year….way less than if he returned to UK

A few years ago, there was a proposed rule change that would allow undrafted players to retain NCAA eligibility. I don't think it's been voted on yet and didn't pass if they did. That's probably what people are talking about.

Jarin Stevenson has reclassified from '24 to '23 and has committed to Alabama.  Seems a little strange -- he's a borderline top 50 player and pretty thin center (6'10", 200 pounds) whom I think probably isn't going to add much to Alabama right away.
