I love that St. Peter's in the sweet sixteen, but this talk about Shaheen Holloway being the flavor of the week and moving on to a power  job just reminds me of the mistake that Illinois made in hiring John Groce.  Some steps are too big and too early for some coaches.

This may be. And I grant you it seems to bomb more often than not, but St Peter's to Seton Hall doesn't seem like the massive jump like Ohio to Illinois or many others. If the Pirates hire him, they get a guy with new national exposure and a guy that knows local recruiting well. No guarantees though.

I would say the difference is that Holloways name had been mentioned even before this run by people in the know.  He was listed as one to keep an eye on.  I watched more St Peters games this year because of that.   Groce had a run in the tourney and Illinois jumped on him.  Groce wasn’t getting praise like Holloway was

It's what USC did with Enfield... But they may have also only hired him because of his wife.

My buddy was used to be a student manager for seton hall bball while he went there. He is very confident that Holloway is going there after Willard goes to Maryland.

That he was a step up from Bobby Gonzalez and helped get the program back to relevancy. Doesn’t sound like he’s broken up over him likely leaving though.

I think interviewing coaches at the half is moronic/useless but these interviews during live game timeouts are a whole different level of stupid.

Hate it so much. Would have loved to see some sideline reporter step into RMK’s huddle and say, “Coach, I know you’re trying to stem a 14-2 run, but can I have a second?”

I can’t figure out how they got anyone to agree to it. To their credit the coaches give decent responses, but seeing their team behind them in a huddle while they interview during a full timeout is wild.

I would bet anything they are forced to do it. 
The coaches should be with their team but have to answer questions that are a joke.

etc etc.

To your point, have to give the coaches credit for answering and being civil.

Tv paying big money for the tournament. Probably a clause in that TV deal making them do it
