if you haven't seen it. There is a youtube video of Coach Knight's 50th birthday/ IU library fund-raising. a must see, had me in tears and missing the glory years of IU under a great coach.

I've seen it and it is quite funny.  Apparently there were two of these (or my memory is further gone than I thought) because I went to a similar 50th birthday event at Market Square Arena.  The one you mention appeared to be either at AH or somewhere else.

The one I attended was quite amusing as well - I'll always remember the story Karen Knight told about him using a towel as a "buffer", lol

So Indiana misses the tournament while it's being played solely in the Indy area AND NO TV TEDDY?!?!

We are living in the worst reality.

Tonight should of been the first night of the first 4 in Dayton.   We might be getting the tournament this year but it’s still far from normal.   2 straight years now the tradition of going to the first 4 in Dayton with my wife is  on hold.   Can’t wait for Thursday but really can’t wait until I’m back in Dayton posting some First 4 pics on here

NCAA Picks

West: Gonzaga over Iowa. I think some upsets are UCSB over Creighton and USC gets to the Sweet 16.

East: Alabama over Florida State (this football?). I think the Livers injury really hurts Michigan. I felt like they've lost some mojo since the end of the season. I hate it because they would've been my pick weeks ago. LSU could beat Michigan but I have FSU knocking them out. I think Sparty could make a run.

South: Baylor over Ohio State. I'd love to watch Arkansas-Texas Tech in the 2nd round. Either could beat Ohio State. I think Winthrop upsets Villanova and Purdue. Gillespie is a massive blow to Villanova and they aren't the same team. I like Purdue's team but they are young. I think Withrop has a 6'7 PG. Tough matchup and they play fast.

Midwest: Illinois over San Diego State. SDSU beats Houston. I think they make up for last year (should've been a 1 seed) Nothing against Sampson but I think they are overrated.

Final Four: Gonzaga blow out Alabama. Illinois beats Baylor in an epic game. Went back and forth there.

NCAA Championship: Gonzaga over Illinois. I just think this is the year it happens. They are just good. Kispert 1st Team All-American. Suggs and Timme 2nd Team All-American. Ajayi kid Honorable-Mention. Lots of talent. They have a solid PG play with Nembhard. As good as a starting 5 in a while. Illinois will give them all they can handle with Ayo and Kofi.

This is as big of a crapshoot the tournament has been in years. I expect lots of upsets early on but overall the top 3 teams are pretty darn good and I'd be surprised if they aren't in the Final Four.

I'd love to see Purdue get beat the first weekend, with everyone acting like they have a bye to the Sweet 16 and Mike DeCourcy picking them to go to the Final Four.

I probably won't pick Gonzaga to win it all because so many others will, but realistically, I think they win it. I have this weird feeling that with a new era about to begin at IU, maybe it's just time to finally put '76 in the rearview mirror and move on.

Purdue had the easiest schedule in the conference (playing Michigan, Iowa, & Illinois  once along with Wisconsin at home only).  In a normal season they get what? 3 or 4 more games at most which means they’d have to win all of them to stay off the  standard 19-21 win bubble. There isn’t a more overrated team in the tournament.

I think in a normal year they'd still be in, but would be closer to a 6 seed.

I missed the news that Iowa State had fired Steve Prohm -- but after a 2-22 season (0-18 in the Big 12), that's hardly surprising. He has a $5 million buyout, while the athletic department is facing a $25 million shortfall thanks to COVID. When addressing how the school is able to pay the buyout, this is what the AD said:

“Something I've heard out there, that there (was) a donor or were donors who stepped up and said ‘we’ll pay the buyout,’ that did not happen,” Jamie Pollard said. “I don't want that to ever happen at Iowa State. I think that sends a horrible message about how the program is led and managed.”

Hmmm ... a not-so-subtle jab at IU and Scott Dolson?

It depends on who they schedule. Clemson was their only non cupcake non con game this season. I have to imagine they schedule some ranked opponents which would almost definitely be losses with the way they were playing early on.
They also wouldn’t get 5 of the top 6 BigTen teams once...to me that’s the most telling data point. The only top half conference opponent they played was Ohio St.

All big programs have boosters. ISU wishes they had boosters. Pollard has booster envy......

I posted what I heard from an ACC guy yesterday in the Fire Thread. Similar thoughts as the AD

Translation = no one will pay the buy out.
